nope
i don't even know what that means
but i think i'm going to take website designing as a class next year in school
that will probably help me a lot. i think it is in html?
i don't want a fancy website. just simple and clean, with a functional shopping cart (maybe o-0)
hm, so should i learn all that coding/html stuff first and then get a domain/host? >_<
cause i was thinking of just getting a site and then using a semicrappy layout first.. :\

Its a pretty basic language that is really easy to pick up, and since
you're taking a web design course next year by the time you finish
that you'll have no problem whipping up sites =D
If you're worried about your site not looking all that great at the beginning
you could always look into open source web templates. You can find a lot of really
nice looking ones to get a start. I know a site with some good ones but I don't
have my laptop on me atm so I'll post it for you when I grab it.
Also, you might want to look into getting Adobe Dreamweaver
its more about design (it does most of the coding for you) and
its really easy to make a quick website.
I personally have had all my websites hosted by my school but
I have a bunch of friends who've purchased domains. I'll ask
which companies they think are the best and I'll get back to ya on that as well =]
Sorry for the long post >.<
I hope I've helped a bit
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask =)

where did you purchase your domain? (domain means website name right? lol)

you can create your own designs and layouts once you get familiar with coding.
I got my hosting from school when I took a course for web development and they haven't taken it down =p
I didn't get a domain name because I was using it for practice rather than making it a public thing.
and yes the domain is the website name

I suggest you use a company that offers cPanel or Plesk (I prefer cPanel for starters).
It's basically a little online application that lets you manage everything with a click of a button. Most of them make it so you can install shopping in a two-three click process.

Go there for a list of advertising for web hosting. You're probably looking at $5-15 a month, with a free domain.
A web host is a company that 'hosts' your website. Basically, you're paying them to put up your 'website'. Think about putting an advertisement in a newspaper, and the newspaper is the "internet" (Tech savvy, please just let me slide for this analogy). You pay the newspaper company, they put the advertisment in the newspaper, and your readers can see your advertisement.
Also, have you taken a look at www.co.cc? When you register, they give you a free shopping cart under cc.cc. Basically, you get a free "www.yourdomainhere.co.cc" and they also give you "www.yourdomainhere.cc.cc" which has a shopping cart.
Example: http://www.skintouchx.cc.cc/
A few web hosts:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=862556 $2.95/month with coupon
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=860682 $5.35/month with coupon
There's a bunch others, but I like the first link ($2.95). A known company.

i've seen the .cc.cc or the .co.nr or .tk or .someotherinitials for free, but in your opinions,
do you guys think that those address would defer potential customers from a website?
would you rather go onto www.shopping.com or www.shopping.cc.cc / www.shopping.co.nr ?
i'm afraid that would drive traffic away from my website :\
what do you thinkkk?
and when you use the domain.cc.cc or something, do you still have to buy a webhost or is that free too?

I fully agree, a .com is much more attractive. But that depends on your customer base. If you're pushing a professional edge, a .com is a must. If you're pushing a "friendly online store" it isn't.
.cc.cc offers free web hosting for shopping cart only. co.cc does not.

can you edit the interface of a .cc.cc fully or is it limited to basic templates? would i be allowed to use dreamweaver or have some html layout thing? (the example website is pretty inattractive imo .__. )
thank you everyone for your help and i'm sorry for having so many questions

and I'm assuming that you'd use Paypal as the method of payment for your transactions.
Here is a link if you'd like to read up on the Add to Cart function

http://www.arvixe.com/linux_web_hosting << anyone ever heard of this webhosting site?
i'm thinking about purchasing from them.. i googled some reviews and they all seem pretty good :|
it would be $7/month if i paid month by month and they give 1 free domain for life
this is the cheapest one i've found and it also seems the most reliable judging from the reviews
any thoughts guys?
