so if u have an ipod touch
and it gets stolen or lost, is there a way of tracking it down? or is all hope lost?
i rlly need help. please any answers?
like if someone plugs it into their computer or something, or goes on the internet with it, can it be traced?
i heard that the police can basically trace anything nowadays like computers and every action you take on your cellphone, so i was wondering if they could help find a lost ipod. thanks

Nothing you can do because imagine if apple could find your location when you plug in your ipod... they will know everywhere you go every song you listen to...

Actually they can but they won't. Probably privacy concerns. But you can report your ipod stolen to apple with the serial number so if someone ever takes it in they will say oh this is a stolen ipod and I think they won't give it back and thats the end of it. O_o

I had my ipod touch stolen and never got it back.
I told the principal of my school but no luck.
In the end I got the second generation ipod.

and is it just a normal touch? I dont think that theres a capability for normal ipod touch (to detect) since its not like.. iPhone where they can probably keep track of...
really sucks for you, ive lost my $200 phone too so yeah.

i dink dis is mainly for ppl who live in NY..
my school introduced this thing where you can register your electronics to the police. so when your stuff gets stolen, u can report and they can try to find it using the serial number

Just so you know, if you think cops are going help track down your ipod touch, they're not going to do it. O_o

hmm my ipod got stolen at school and then I reporded it at the police station but they never contacted me ever again after that..
And then I got a new iPod,,and it went lost somewhere.lol
I got both iPods as presents..such a shame XD
But I don't think you can track it on the computer or something..lol

Hm, really? Never heard of that.
I got my ipod and headphones stolen back in November.
I was real pissed. The gay thing though is I was using
the ghetto headphones that go over your head
because I had recently broken my other headphones,
so they stole that ghetto thing too for some reason..
I guess I could have lost it, maybe it fell out
of my bag cause I lost it at school, but I just assume that it was stolen ^^
