I don't think so.
If the girl likes him, teasing's pretty normal - there's no doubt about that.

But being mean to him - that is, doing things to deliberately hurt him,
is usually when the girl is too immature to deal with a guy that likes her, but she can't return
the feelings.

If she's arguing in a playful, sarcastic banter sort of way in which you're expected
to reply back to her with a similar thing, then she could like you. She's comfortable enough to
voice her opinions and stuff around you .. nice work

On the other hand, if she just shuts you down everytime you bring up a new topic,
then yeah... no go there dude lol.

I tend to tease guys or ignore them (yeah, I know--not like those are opposites or anything, right?) depending on how well I know them and my level of comfort, but I tease everyone I know well enough and get along well enough with, so it's not a sure sign. But constantly arguing? What is she, a middle schooler? It could very well be her way of getting and holding your attention because she likes you, and if you're mirroring her actions then she might think it's ok since you're playing along and she's learned that it's a way of getting you to interact with her. She might also just enjoy verbally sparring with people. She might actually dislike you. She might like you but argues with you to seem like she doesn't or to convince herself that she doesn't. Who knows? Hard to tell from a brief internet blurb.

Well, I use to act mean towards the guy I like. but but that was when I was in grade 5!

however girls tend to bully the guys they like
as a way to put their guard up without being it obvious.
some guys like that edgy type of attitude, but some don't
