I love Riko's character and I'm glad that she is upfront with her feelings.

I wish Riko and Naoki would get together really soon, because its being with each other that gives them the strength they both are yearning for.

LOL, so random. Why do you compare this drama which is a totally different genre from BOF ? Are you new to J-drama ?
Anyways, just watch. There's no drama can be worse than BOF. Period.

I agreed that there have been some dramas released this year that haven't been the best, but I wouldn't categorize this drama with any of them. Buzzer Beat is a great drama and the connection between the two main leads are subtle but noticeable. There's no "I hate you first and now I love" kind of story line going on. They started off as two people that lived in the neighborhood and as they talk about their future goals, life's struggles, etc with each other, they become drawn to one another --- that's when the relationship starts.

BOF and Buzzer Beat are two different dramas with two different genres. I can understand the comparison between all of the Hana Yori Dango's remakes and stuff but you're asking us to compare the impossible. Plus, I wouldn't compare a Japanese Drama to a Korean Drama.
I can tell you that I enjoy watching Buzzer Beat more, if that helps with your decision. Or you can always watch the first episode and decide rather you want to continue.

They're on totally different scales, but I would still choose Buzzer Beat.
I thought Korean BOF was fail beyond fail... the only BoFs worth watching is the Taiwanese and Japanese one.

I also love how at the basketball court where he and she play at has a board there that says "Love makes me stronger" hint hint, Her support makes him stronger.

Gahhh, the girlfriend (? ex I guess?) really annoys me... didn't see much of her this episode though. And the guy (sorry, forgot his name...) she cheated on Naoki with = ...gross looking? Haha, I mean... something about the way he presents himself just grosses me out LOL (and he's not very good looking :3).
Mai is so cute LOL
Gosh, Riko must seriously like Naoki... and I think she knows it but she's just trying to NOT like him cuz she thinks he has a girlfriend, and she thinks that Kawasaki (is that his name LOL) is a great guy and she should be falling for him (but she's not!). I mean, running to the training place just because he cried over the phone? That's some commitment man!
Gahh, the ending <3 The hug was soo good... like, an actual hug! Not one in dramas where one person puts their arms awkwardly around the other... and the other just stands there stiffly.
But preview for ep 6 ... x__x Seems like Kawasaki sees Naoki sending Riko off... uh oh...
Doesn't seem like their love (hehe) progresses any further, but we'll see. Can't wait!
On another note, does anyone want spoilers for this episode? I can probably do a quick summary/spoiler-ish thing. My Chinese isn't great, but I can probably write about most of the episode

that hug was just really amazing. you can feel the emotions they felt. well done to them. both great. i'm glad naoki's gf got caught. i felt so bad for her when she tried to beg him for forgiveness.
in the preview for ep 6, it seems that kawasaki is going to announce his engagement to riko!! no! you have to be with naoki!
on the side note, i'm shipping for shuji and mai. they are so cute and funny. i want they romance to start soon ><
