The FE will certainly be ALOT better for gaming as the Macbook has NO graphics card.
However the Macbook is a smaller laptop, its also built a bit better with a nicer keyboard.
remember.. you're comparing a 15.4" laptop to a 13.3" laptop. they are NOT the same class range. You need to figure out how portable you need to be, and if gaming is important. Video cards are nice, but they suck up battery life and add heat.

3d games (i.e counter strike, WOW, etc) require more graphic power.. the newer ones require more than the older ones. If you're playing something simple or old, then you can get by with the integrated card on the Mac. Integrated cards can handle 3d as well but no where near as good, and newer games will either refuse to run on them, or look really bad. but like I said, you also lose alot of battery life with a video card in.

"Review units should start arriving in the lab any day now, and with the embargo lifting in a couple of weeks, make sure you check back for full reviews of the first batch of Santa Rosa notebooks."
Does this mean laptops will start shipping with Santa Rosa soon? I'm in the market for a laptop before the fall semester, so if santa rosa IS coming out soon, ill definitely wait it out

should be. however compared with the last couple years.. Intel's successor to the previous line usually showed up by february and march.. Santa Rosa is a bit late. don't expect to see it until May, but June-July for most models.
However in general, you shouldn't buy until you really need a notebook.

what i dont like about it is that i have so many problems with it.
especially how sometimes it just acts up on me.
its been almost about since i gotten the laptop.
i am considering to
take it back to get a new one.
because
for no apparent reason will it just turn the screen blank and wont work.
it will shut off by it self.
also the screen turns blue and starts shaking like crazy.
it keeps saying display driver stopped reponding and has recovered.
but when i click the x button so that little pop up thing goes away it wont.
it just keeps flashing and flashing.
i been having difficulty with the internet access for about a month till i called in to
ask for help. when they told me to restore.
i did and alot of my files that i thought came with the computers were all deleted.
not only that
this laptop is just ticking me off with how its cooping.
so do you think they`ll let me change.
i did get warrenty
i did buy it from l.a.
from korean people.
also if they are willing to let me change. it
can anyone recommend me to a different laptop?
what i need it for.
Surfing the Net
Downloading files .. etc.
Adobe photoshop
price.
doesnt really matter
i just need it to work fine :]
and also a built in internal wireless
+
bluetooth.

Thinkpad T60P
Intel Core 2 duo t7200 2.0ghz
2gigabyte 667mhz ram
dvdr/w drive
256 ati mobility card
160gig hard drive
and all that bio finger reader etc
15.4inch screen
for $1665
i'm assuming that's a fantastic deal, right? i'm pretty sure those should go above $2000.
the only downside is the physical appearance. i mean it's fugly as hell but whatever.
i just need your imputs on whether IBM thinkpads are reliable (i mean ibm is a big business suplier, isn't it?)
and stuff.
most def i probably will get this since it also has a 3year warranty
