How do you feel of catcalling? I've noticed that in certain countries, it doesn't happen as often as in other countries. I don't want to name names, but you might know which countries don't do it often/do it often.

Catcalling Creepy or Compliment?

To me, catcalling immediately brings a sense of unwanted self-consciousness to myself - it's like you're suddenly hyperactive of everything you're doing at the moment! It makes me feel threatened, and I think that the more educated a man is, the less likely he'll do something desperate and tacky as this. Of course, there's always that educated-yet-idiotic man who thinks he can't BE A MAN without hooting and whistling to a lady...

Actual catcalling, as in the whistling type, rarely happens in my country. That's a predominantly European/American thing which is also copied by some guys in other places. Instead men make a loud "smooching" noise, although I've had one or two idiotic construction workers whistle at me as well. It's embarrassing and annoying. I hide my face with my umbrella most of the time. Not very effective since there's other stuff they're staring at, but it helps. Dressing VERY conservatively does NOT stop that (if you've got something in front and behind), so for guys who say that they only do it to girls who dress in revealing clothes, that's a lie.
I think guys continue to do it because there some girls who really like it and they smile whenever given that kind of attention. I'm sure you've seen those kinds of girls who walk with an exaggerated sway and even flip their hair whenever they pass guys on the street, just to get attention. So guys now think that all girls must like it, which is not the case. I think only desperate girls like that kind of thing...
No!! LOL. A booty call is something totally different, like having to do with prostitution different! The real term for the whistling is cat-calling or "wolf-whistling" I think...

In a way, it's flattering, but in general, just... degrading. Like you're some piece of meat or something. The ones I get are just so... inappropriate, it makes me feel really uncomfortable. And I have this tendency to talk back so I kinda get into a little trouble every now and then :|
always and forever seven ♥
