Okay, so my friend [L] is in Year 11, 16 years old.

Lately one of her work friends has been paying special attention to her lately.

Last night he sent her a txt message which went something like:
"ok sweet dreams hunny
something something. love you."
I'm the only one out of her friends that knows, and she really doesn't know what to do.

She doesn't like him.

She's 1 year older than him.

Last night, he asked her on msn if he would come to his birthday party though she knows no one who will be going. She asked if her friends could come along, and he said "Yes". I think that if none of us come along, she won't go because its awkward.

It's obvious that he likes her. I met him once, only briefly, and I could tell. She's showed me all the stuff he's said to her. He treats her like a princess, but she doesn't want it. It would be slack to just tell him to back off, right? She still wants his friendship no matter what.

If you have any advice/ideas/things I can say to her, please reply!

Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. If he really likes her a lot, then it is almost impossible until he only looks at her as a friend. He might agree to the friendship, but in the back of his mind, he sees her as his future s/o...He might feel, he just needs some time to change her mind. If he makes a move by telling her that he likes her, she must be firm and direct to make sure there are no misunderstandings that she is interested in him or else she will be leading him on(that's the way he might take it or perceive it).
