So .... yeah, ever since I got on this healthy lifestyle, my normal BP got lower. It's great right? WRONG, it was already under the recommended (which is 120/70) - before it was usually 110/70. Now it's usually 100/60 or even 90/60. The result. I'm freaking dizzy all the time. Light bothers me, and stuff I see seems to be more "shiny" then usual (this always happened to me when I had low BP).

I tried drinking more water - it's not the dehydration. I drink tons of herbal tea. Doesn't work.

I tried eating more salt (which is great, because I LOVE salty stuff) - the result, I got bloated...but still dizzy.

Right now the only thing that kinda helps is a cup of STRONG black tea when I get all woozy.

Did I mention my pulse is also lower? Like 60 now (lower end of normal).

Oh, I'm not starving myself or any crazy stuff, I just eat VERY healthy 99% of the time, and even permit myself a small serving of chocolate every day (25-40g).

Your blood pressure readings actually seem normal. According to an article I found online, blood pressure readings below 120/80 is considered normal and below 90/60 is deemed low. However, if you're feeling dizzy all the time, you may want to see a doctor about it. Do you feel dizzy throughout the day or is after you do some sort of activity?

Maybe you have vertigo?
My old friends' little sister had it and she said
she'd feel dizzy or lightheaded all of the time.

well...i'm taking a vasodilator supplement right now...and i sort of have the same problem. i either sacrifice effectiveness or i get light headed. i usually just eat (like you are) things that have a high sodium content. usually sodium is the main medium that will raise your blood pressure...i did that when i first started taking vasodilators, and it worked fine...but now...i dont know...i can't really feel the effects of the vasodilator until i'm out of the gym...so i don't really know what to do about this =P it's a pickle. visit a doctor. there's vasoconstrictors that they can prescribe you. you'll get what you need if you explain all of your symptoms

laugh.gif maybe taking up smoking may help as well...but...i won't recommend it...because of secondary health risks =P hahahahaha

Definitely go see your family doctor if you're worried. My mom and I have low BPs...like super low. Last I checked, mine was 96/57....the doctor said it's nothing to worry too much about. Although, I don't get dizzy or light-headed often...it's usually on days where I haven't eaten yet. Otherwise, I'm good.

Good luck!

Try eating more red meat and eggs? They're full of iron.

I'm 90/60 consistently and I am fine most of the time. I only feel lightheaded/dizzy during that time of month...
so it could possibly be something else? Definitely go see a doctor if it's interfering with your lifestyle. <3

i had that too 90/60, i got dizzy all the time especially after standing up too quickly or doing sports...
but now it's better, i rarely get dizzy anymore

that's what i did: start doing sports - even if it's just jogging 10 minutes a day..., drink coffee - even though it's bitter... and avoid soja / tofu cuz that food should be eaten if you want to have lower blood pressure, and i don't think u want that :.P

mmm...you might get used to it. mine is usually like 90/54 or something in that range. i used to get dizzy when i first changed my diet and exercise but now i dont... maybe because i take a multivitamin with iron? or i just got used to it by now? just take it easy for the time being haha

My mom has low blood pressure and one day she became EXTREMELY dizzy. Lie down on your back and elevate your feet. I think you should go to the doctor though.

I think a lot of people get that. It's called a head rush.

I have these symptoms of light headed sometimes and low blood pressure from a neurological disease I have but Im not saying you have something but its best to get checked out. Also sometimes the lack of movement on a daily bases is a more common problem.

depends what type of herbal tea you're drinking, if you're have 2+ cups of herbal tea a day its not supposed to be good for you.

i used to drink more than 2+ cups of herbal tea aday, and I'd feel really faint too, so I cut back. I have low blood pressure too.

I agree with what most chatters here say -- if it really bothers you, go see your family doctor. My blood pressure is below the average rate 120/80, but that is the normal blood pressure for me & I do get dizzy at times as well. Though, do not take this for granted, it might be something serious (I hope not!) wink.gif

nahh, your pulse is within the normal range 60-100 per min. I suggest you work out more in that way, it will increase your BP. Although it is only temporary. And I'm sure you're still pretty young so I won't be bothered that much. Coz I have a very low BP too. But I know I'm physically fit and young. Just make sure that your blood ion count is not low, or in other words, anemia. Coz having a low BP plus being anemic = BAD. No matter how young you are. But if its only low BP and not anemic = tolerable if you're young.

hmm... asians DO have lower blood pressure than non asians though....
like... 110/70 is not too bad... it is quite normal for a lot of asians..., everyone on my mum's side are like that lol

i am in your boat too... my normal can be 100/60... or even 90/60 or something, but yes, i am dizzy a lot of the times as well haha!!headachey and everything... I hate salty food... but I do drink water... and i started to eat more red meat, although nothing seems to help... once i was like.. 92/67 and i was prefectly fine... no dizzzy no nothing... but yeah, some people just have low blood pressures smile.gif must know that.. in case you go to hospital (no i don't want you to go...) and you then know that maybe hyptertension for you isn't starting at the 140/90 range.. but lower, as your usual one is lower...... smile.gif

there is always ways to treat HIGH bp.. but not low bp...

I'm 100/60 with resting heart rate of 55. Btw, lower resting heart rate = healthier because it means your heart is more efficient. Do you get enough iron? That's the main thing I can think of. If not iron, then other blood related vitamins such as vitamin B. Before I got really really bad dizzy spells a week before my period, I guess because the body is taking all that blood to create the uterine lining.
