my coworker offered to sell me his 300zx tt for 4800 bux. its mileage is about 120k? he showed it to me and it looks in good condition. should i spend the money elsewhere? or buy this car?
edit: well he told me the engine was replaced. it was stock non turbo, but the engine he put in there is a twin turbo, and about 60,000 miles on it. the interior is pretty clean too, the chairs have never been replaced and there's only one tear in it o.o. this is, by the way, my first car to ever own and buy. so far i've only been driving family cars and stuff haha, so i have no knowledge on cars (can't even drive a stick), but i gotta start somewhere right?
anyway... i think i am financially capable to support this car, i have alot saved up...

If you strongly believe it's in good condition then go for it because my friend bought a 300zx (not twin turbo though) for about $5K 2-3 years ago.

check shaft play? seals? compression?... original paint? all vins intact? check tranny fluid color, oil color , check for leaks...
and only if only all those checks out fine! buy it and turn it around you can sell it for profit on the zforum lol..
btw they are not friendly to work on due to lack of space in the engine.

4.8k? Check out kelly blue book, go on the forums and check what maintenance you will have to do and what parts you will probably have to replace.
The 300zx is one of those epic cars of the early 90's. I could totally rock one, although I would much rather take a FD3S Rx-7, a 300zx is a good starting point.

You gotta ask yourself this question first. Do I have the money, knowledge and time to maintain a car like this? Just cuz its cheap and has low miles doesnt mean its a great thing. Turbo cars are harder to maintain and need more attention than NA cars. Do you wana deal with the headache of this car if/when it breaks down on u?

120k miles? that engine is half dead already. and since the turbo is not OEM(Original Equipment Manufactuer), the turbo probably shortens the engine life.
Not worth it.

i would stay away unless you have money to maintain/mod. even a perfect condition one will be expensive to maintain. anything under the engine bay is a pain to work on which results in high labor if a shop does your work. this is coming from a guy who owned 2 z32's.
ignore this gibberish post

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

I say get it, post the pics. Good condition 300zx's are hard to come by, at least they are around my area.
I agree with boost. Ignore people who drive new luxury sports cars mommy and daddy bought him, they rare know cars in depth.
