Question About Losing/gaining Weight

I have a question about losing/gaining weight. Say if your maintenance calories is 1200 but then you eat over 2000 for a week and gain a few pounds, and then after that week, you start eating 1300 for a week. Will you be losing weight or gaining weight? Im confused as to whether id be losing or gaining, because 1300 is over your maintenance calories BUT its less than what you were taking in before(in the period of the eating 2000 calories for a week). Can anyone help answer this?

You'll loose some pounds, but you will be heavier than the weight you were before you start eating 2000 cal a week
(btw, isn't the average cal consumption suppose to be 2500?)
