but thank you for using your precious time to help a fellow soompier in need! ^^

okay, so, as a late birthday present, my dad promised me to buy a brand new camera! (my last digital camera was a sony cybershot with 6.0 mp. sucks huh?)
you see... i originally was going to ask my dad for a nikon d60/d40 but he didn`t let me because it was too expensive...
after many days of thinking and window shopping... i have narrowed it down to two nikon cameras.
& i guess these two cameras are the closest thing i have to dslr cameras. (:

nikon coolpix p90 or nikon coolpix L1000

i don`t know what to get, and both cameras has its pro and cons (for example, p90 is more expensive than d100, but d1000 doesn't have rechargable batteries and p90 does. :/) i`m also on a $300 - $400 budget. :/

so... what do you soompiers think? please help! [:

For point and shoot cameras, I recommend Canon the picture quality is awesome . If not, then go get the camera that you like the most; if you don't mind not having rechargable batteries then get the d1000.
