I really hope so.
My best friend and I have been friends since the 4th grade...
We're both about to enter our first year in College.

So that's, what...almost 10 years?
(:

If both are willing to put in the effort to keep the friendship then why not?

There were times that I felt that we were fading away too...
But usually one of us would catch it and make sure it didn't happen.
It's not easy, but if you're willing to make it work, it will.
It's just like being in a relationship.
Well, lol, it IS a relationship.

i like to think that just because of distance or time away from each other
it doesn't mean you're not friends anymore. hence, the 'best friends' come in and out of your life every now and then.

x_X' but i guess it's because the friends around me + me don't change that much for there to be significant conflicts due to differences. if we ever were to meet up again after a long time.

Well.... I did believe in it for a long time... There's someone I've been best friends for 7 years... (well if you count until now) but last year I found out she was dating this guy behind my back for 2 years... I liked this guy for a long time and she knew. Well, the fact that she lied to me for two years bothered me a lot more than who she was dating. Even now it's hard for me to trust people again... I think it's possible. But there are other friends that I try to talk to... at least I have them.

People change, but I guess if two people are just that compatible with each other, I believe it's possible. But the 2 have to work to keep it alive. I mean, I've recently moved and I don't see a lot of the friends I used to hang out with a few years back just because we go to different schools now and live in different locations. It's just hard sometimes.

No reason why a person has to necessarily have a minimum time value to become a 'best friend' so, no, I don't believe it.

I really do believe that - but only if both parties are willing to make an effort to keep the friendship going.

My teacher told me its more likely that you stay friends with people youve been friends with either from a very young age or from college
and that people from high school dont tend to stay "best friends"

I found this bit like Woah first and dint believe it but im find it more and more true
I only have one rly close friend from highschool and my other friends are from college(sixth form) or Uni (altho i am still attending Uni)

its kind of strange

eh, it sorta depends i suppose. for the most part, its easier for me to be friends with guys because of whatever reason...

girls seriously piss me off, and they think they're all that, and b!tchy and gossipy.
"KILEYYYYYYYYYYYY OH MY GOD DID I TELL YOU THAT RAYNE AND JOHNSON BROKE UP? AND HE WAS CHEATING ON HER? WITH ME! HAHAHA SHE DESERVED IT! I DONT EVEN LIKE HIM! AND HE THINKS WE'RE GONNA STAY TOGETHER! HA!"

guys are just like, "KILEYYYYYYY HI I MISS YOU WHATS GOING ON LETS DRINK COFFEE AND ILL BUY YOU SOME CAKE!"

sure why not? cool.gif i like cake

people come and go.
just because you dont stay BEST friends doesnt mean you have to be any less than FRIENDS.

there are important people in everyone's lives. i cant say i believe in having a *best* friend.
because that would mean i could only have one at the very top? unless they tied for it.

then again, how its not like i can grade them like 90/100, or 93/100, right?
if you were to ask me, i dont take that title "best friend" too seriously, i have 8 really really close friends, and thats good enough for me.

i mean, as long as i know those people will be there for me no matter what, to support me, to give me fully unbiased advice on how ugly or awesome my haircut is, or to bail me out in the middle of nowhere at 3am..then its all good!

A have one best friend (my closest) that I have known since kindergarten. So that's almost 10 years. We both moved around alot but now she lives lose again & we are still close. Me and my cousins were bests friends too when I was a toddler but now we don't talk much at all (and they go to college here). Then there was this boy that was my best friend in Japan but ever since I moved I haven't talked to him.

My good friends I have now that I really talk to and hang out with the most are these two guys that are twins. Besides them I'm not really close to anybody. It would be nice having a bff forever but so many of my friends have moved due to their parents jobs and a lot of my friends started acting different and drift away.

But that's one friend I've had for a long time! That's more than a lot of people have accomplished <3 No one has been closer than her~You can be buds forever but you gotta work at it.

i kinda do yet not really...my bestfriend and i have been friends for bout 9 years and we've had our ups and downs where we were scared that we aren't close or friends anymore...but i guess thats what highschool does to you...it tests ur friendship and for me i think it made our friendship even more stronger.
we would always joke around bout we better stay friends even after highschool or university saying we'll randomly show up at each other's houses complaining if we don't LOL
i love my bestfriend we don't give extravagant gifts or celebrate our friendship anniversary but we have our own ways of showing our affection for each other blush.gif

Hah, me and my best friend aren't even friends anymore. But I think it's possible, both sides just have to put in a lot of effort.
