1. They're either fishing for compliments (in a really pathetic way), or,
2. They have distorted views of "healthiness", and,
3. They have LOW self esteem
I used to have a friend like that. She was skin and bones, and she kept complaining about her gut (clearly there was none).
Even though I'm "fatter" than her, I just agreed and suggested that she should work out more than just once a week if she's that unhappy ^^.
I knew she was fishing for compliments.
I don't stand for those kinds of people.
However, if it's a SERIOUS problem... then I'm not the right person to help "cure" that kind of a mentality.
I'd suggest a psychologist. (Not that I WON'T help discourage that kind of a mentality).

dysmorphia. They are definitely not impressive or attractive. Quite the opposite.

So I'm not really fat

one of my really skinny friends who's my height and 10 pounds lighter than me (and wayyy more toned) says that im skinnier than her. and she runs for riduculous amounts of time each day because apparently she needs to lose fat.
i hope these kinds of people snap out of it eventually.

Some people said i'm pretty skinny, but I disagree, because of my stomach is not flat, it makes me feel super fat.
yah, some people are so abnormal, they feel fat if they aren't under 100 lbs, not toothpick skinny with flat chest and flat butt.

Totally agree.
I have a friend who had a baby (about 5 yrs ago now) and she ALWAYS complains about how fat she is. She's about 5'3" and 115 pounds and for someone who gave birth, that is not fat. This is rather skinny. I'm bigger than her so I would reply back, "so if you're fat, does that make me a pig?" she didn't reply

it's like they want others to notice the fact that they're skinny (fishing for compliments)
and they want to make the other person look like total frap.
makes me mad.

Sometimes, lol. I have this skinny-short friend and she keeps calling herself huge. If she's fat, if she's fat, what am I? I'd be huge. ==; But seriously, she's skinny as hell. Not anorexic skinny but skinny, though she does eat a lot. It's not fair that she doesn't gain weight. ==;

I absolutely am fat.

I need to lose like...at least 5 pounds or something >_< my thighs are huuuuge T_T
Anyways, with your friend it could be that she's like me lmao xD and has low self esteem/thinks the ideal body is really skinny.
Oooor she wants compliments and reassurance from her friends?

I know what you mean. With short people our thighs can be a really small pant size but they look big in proportion to the rest of our body because our legs are so much shorter.
I know I wear pretty small sized everywhere but I still look fat compared to a girl who's 5'7" and wears size 5.
Actually, the thing that annoys me even more than skinny people calling themselves fat is fat people who call skinnier people fat. I have overweight friends who make fun of my weight and I'm like 'what?'
