I was talking to a (guy) friend, who was saying that women don't compliment other women especially on their looks.

I compliment others when i actually mean those compliments. Also, has to be natural (come up naturally in a conversation. i won't say it out of the blue. It's awkward.)
What do you think? Do we women tell each other that they're pretty? If so, do you mean them? If not, why not?

[EDIT] When i say compliment, I mean like tell each other that they're pretty/beautiful. And also, other women that are not celebrities.

Yes, why not? but sometimes i compliment to receive compliments
But if I honestly like something, it won't matter stranger or friend, I'd compliment them and occasionally ask where they bought it.

Of course women give each other compliments... honestly i don't do it unless i really, really mean it. they can't help it, its like saying "ah nice shirt, i wish it was on me instead". of course there are some circumstances where a girl HAS to be nice to a girl (for example in a team) so she acts real fake and goes, "oh cute shirt!" then behind your back it's like "god its too asian". that was from personal experience. =o=

I don't compliment people since I don't like compliments myself. The reason being that complimenting people is awkward for me. It is as though they are complimenting me, or I am complimenting them, because they, or I, expect the person who is complimented on to say something nice about him/her, too.

If I don't think they qualify in that range, I just won't say anything XD

I do all the time. I have no problem expressing my opinion on a girl's appearance, even if it may seem out of character. For example, Hyori Lee is hot and sexy--I'd go lesbian for her. lol

yea I'm not shy to admit it when i see a pretty girl xD Its so natural for girls to compliment other females, but it seems like guys cant seem to compliment guys without getting weird looks by their friends or something which is kinda unfortunate.

LOL I compliment my friends all the time! if they look great I'll tell them that. It makes me happy when I get complimented, soooo...if I am thinking, "hey, she looks great!" I'll say it, hopefully it'll make their day just a little bit better.

I tell my friends when other girls look good too, male or female. I always get teased by my male friends when I am like, damn, that chick had a nicee butt/legs/boobs/face/etc. For some reason that is a strange thing for me to say. But I check out women all.the. TIME! Women are such pretty creatures *sigh* Is it possible to be physically attracted to women but not sexually? LOL I would never want to do anything with a woman but I do find myself checking out women moreso than men...they're just more....interesting to look at.
