What's the meaning of 老 in 除非你拼命學習否則你一定老不好 ? I know the regular meanings but can't make sense of this one

blink.gif I've never seen it used like that. Could it be written wrongly?

My guess would be 考 instead of 老.

translation: Only if you study very hard or you're surely *always* going to be bad.

Edit: it is kind of awkward...was it written or typed...cuz if it was written it might be wrong but not if it was typed.

if memory serves me correct, i think the kuai le part is actually 快樂 but the sheng ri part is fine.

Li - 3rd sound. It's a very common Chinese surname.

Generally romanised as Lee.

I remember a song from Fish Leung called "Happy Separation" which is quite similar to the feeling of "if this continues, it is going to hurt more..." I think.

To go- 去 qu4 (There are some others depending on what you are trying to say)
Ex: 出去 chu1 qu4 - go out
To eat- 吃 chi1
Ex: 吃飯 chi1 fan4 - to eat a meal
To sleep- 睡 shui4
Ex: 睡著 shui4 zhao2 - asleep
To come- 來 lai2
Ex: 來這裡 lai2 zhe4 li3 - come here
