i had a question to ask.
could some explain, 过(guo) to me please?
i've seen it use in certain sentences, and i'm confused to as why it's there.
Well, it's not only 过 that has different meanings when used in different circumstances...
For some examples.. lemme think... okay.
well, the official literal meaning of 过 would be "having passed/through".
说过 (or similar usage: 错过)
when used here, it implies the meaning of "having already done something".
Therefore, this phrase would mean that "someone has said before..."
走过
in this case, it means "across", the whole phrase thus meaning "to walk across".
sometimes, it can also mean "after", like in 过了十年 (after ten years) and it also kind of means that (having passed ten years). So it holds quite a similar meaning to "having passed".
haha it's kind of hard to explain it, but i hope you get the idea. having some sentences would be pleasant for explanations. =P
