i think it's like this:

我希望人家會聽我的話。
如果我說不,就是不!

it's only when you read though, not if you're talking or conversing with someone though. hope it helps ! happy.gif

just curious, what would it be like if you wanted to say it in conversation? and how come this version is "read only"? thanks ^^!

I want to rest for a while.

Doesn't it need the "er" at the end of that? I haven't seen "一会" as is.
So "一会儿" makes the translation "yi huir"

(But I think that's besides the point.. because uchung89 asked for the translation.. Still, I like attention to detail..)

if you said that in a conversation in cantonese, you'll sound like a book XD because in Cantonese, what you read and what you speak is different compared to Mandarin.

"我希望人家會聽我的話。
如果我說不,就是不!"
^ is more of a Mandarin way of speaking.

I speak Cantonese and I would say it as:
我想人地听我讲啊。 如果我话唔系就唔系。

I hope you can read Chinese, that's how you would pronounce it but the words are a bit wrong. It's hard typing out Cantonese XD

How would you say "journal" in Mandarin?
Pin yin & characters, please.

I'm trying to think of a new username for something, so I thought it'd be cool to have it in Chinese. tongue.gif

Hope: 希望 (xi1 wa4ng)
Love: 愛 (a4i)
I don't know the other two ^^; Sorry

Also, can we just speak Chinese in this thread? I wasn't sure if this was the equivalent to the Japanese Discussion thread, or just for translation help and stuff like that ^^;

Can someone please give me:
"From your love" & "To my love" in pinyin?

I

從你的爱: "From Your Love"
Cong^1 ni^3 de^5 ai^4

送給我的爱 / 畀到我的爱: "To my love"
song gei wo de ai / bi dao wo de ai

I'm not quite sure if "song" is necessary in the first one, because technically "gei" means "to give" but can be used as "For" like "Gei ni" = "For you" or "Give to you" but if we leave it at "gei wo de ai" it'd technically be "To give my love" bleh

Can I get a check on which one is ok to use?

btw

Faith: 信念 (xin^4 nian^4)
Forgiveness: 寬恕 (kuan^1 shu^4) [note: this is the noun form, do you want the verb form for "showing forgiveness?"]
It might take more muscles to frown than to smile, but it takes none to not give a ****.

hey guys! i'm in HUGE trouble...my friend was supposed to record himself saying this for my for my chinese film project, but he kind of flaked out on me..i was wondering if there is any kind guy that can speak mandarin that is willing to record himself saying this line for me and send it on over before tomorrow...i know...seems unreasonable..but i'm dying here... please..pretty pretty please with the sugar on top ^^

谁知道是祸是福呢?
Shi zhī do sh hu sh f ne?

mandarin is preferred..but if u can say it in cantonese, that'd be fine too...thanks in advance!

if someone records it, please send it to king_of_hearts47ii@yahoo.com. it's just a voice recording, not a video recording, so u dont have to worry about showing your face. i'll give full and proper credits to u ^^

文明能壓醉
Society may oppress the lovers,
情懷不衰
But feelings will not disappear,
無論枯乾山水
Even as the landscape withers dry, (implying eons in time)
舊時年月投入垃圾裡*
In the past, days and years would be thrown away,
你我一起同居
You and I, as we live together,
仍然能送你
Like before, I'll send you a childhood toy,
老地方抱著一起安睡*
While we sleep peacefully, holding each other in a place in our memories

*舊時年月投入垃圾裡
Literally: "A long time ago, the days and years would be thrown into the trash,"

*老地方抱著一起安睡
Technically it's, "In an old place, we hold each other sleeping peacefully," but I think I got the implied meaning, corrections please!

Is this a Canto lyric? I haven't seen a lot of the words here used in the manner it is written.
It might take more muscles to frown than to smile, but it takes none to not give a ****.
