You might have broke the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) on that tire, which is making the clunking noise. If it is, you should get it fixed since it alerts you when the pressure in a specific tire is low or high. If it is the TPMS, BMW will charge you like no other to replace the TPMS and also for the labor/installation fee..you can try to look on ebay/amazon for a TPMS that is specific to your vehicle and then taking it to a reg mechanic for installation.

or your wheel may be bent, in which case you should replace it immediately. Try and get it balanced.

Also consider the possibility that something like a nail might be in the tire.

if the clicking noise is that noticeable while driving in the car, i doubt it is a nail. how fast were you going? its possible that you damaged the axle.

actually there is a possibility that there is a nail. when a nail is stuck on the tire thread, it will make a sound so.. it could be a nail/rock/w.e in the tire.

Yeah I speak from personal experience. It happened to me several times. Nails and bolts vary, and some are complete with washers and nuts! I'm not saying it is a nail, but you can't rule it out until the tire or suspension is inspected.

your wheel is probably bent. My friend's IS300 had the same problem and she had to replace her rims. get it checked and fix it soon.

When my lug nuts come loose I hear a clicking noise too. Maybe it was just a loose lugnut?
