Alright so I did some researching, and there's nothing really general about what your favorite kind of beer is (sorry if there as an old one and I missed it). Anyway, typically when someone asks what my favorite beer is, I respond either, "I haven't sampled enough of the world's beers to know", or "the one that I'm holding in my hand".

That isn't to say that I have a particular affinity towards Samuel Adam's Boston Lager. I just can't resist it's smooth crisp flavor that has just so much body to it and rolls across the tongue and down your throat with that slight tickly sensation (sorry I'm a beer aficionado). It's also perfect in all sorts of weather, giving you a warm feeling in the winter and a refreshing feeling in the summer. It's just too good!

This discussion isn't limited to just beers produced or found in the US. Tell me about any beer from anywhere that you thought was particularly amazing and why it was so. It would be nice if you knew the company name as well as what kind of style (lager, ale, bock, hefeweizen, etc). Where'd you drink it and what was the atmosphere of it all??

Cheers!

Also if you've got pictures of the beer (particularly if in a glass) put em up! seeing the colors makes all the difference!

ha. i really liked sam adam's summer ale. it had a citrus tangy taste to it, but not bitter. twas quite refreshing!

and walt wit beer, it is a local brewed beer in philadelphia. it sort of has that deep crisp flavor. pretty good imo.

and i've had beer my friend brewed. he's part of the brewing club at campus. one was a chocolate raspberry beer which was delicious, and the other was just tasted like keystone light haha. i can't wait to join the brewing club >:]

Hoegaarden is gooood! Heffeweizen is good too. These days I don't really go to bars but when I do they're korean ones so all I get is Hite. Lol. They don't really carry other beers. sleep.gif It's not bad to drink with some anju so I can't complain.

I'm in Bethesda, MD but I've never seen any kind of Korean beer anywhere, in fact hardly any asian beers. You know what kind of places provide them? I've, also started brewing my own beer and just had my first bottle of the first batch! Needs a little work granted, but hey, guess I'll just need to keep practicing right? tongue.gif

Well considering I live in koreatown it's abudant here. Lol. All the korean bars have them so I can't really help you with finding it there. Is there any place there that has a community of koreans? I'm sure they would have korean markets and where there are korean markets there is korean beeer. haha. smile.gif You should just grab a bottle of soju though. wink.gif

Newcastle or Blue Moon.
I don't usually drink beer, but if I had to choose, I'll pick those.

^ Never tried Alsterwasser before, I think I'll give it a try. smile.gif

Diesel is also not bad, mixing beer with coke.

Any lager is fine with me. I dislike things like wheat beer and ale. Dark lager more preferable, AmberBock for instance. A nice ice cold Guinness is pretty good to me. StrongBow is pretty good as well. I also like the beers from sea, singha and beer lao.

I'm heading over to Europe for a semester abroad in Spain. I can't wait to go and be able to try some new beers and styles! Especially going to a traditional pub in germany, london, or belgium and getting whatever is on top that can't be found anywhere else..
Also has anyone had a Fosters? That was another one of my favorites (aka Oil Cans I hear). Had it on a cruise once when I was still new to beer... seemed like that can just wouldn't empty haha
(give an idea of how big it is)

My best friend is Korean so I'll see if we can pick up some of that Soju which sounds pretty delicious after looking it up. Is it drunk in any particular way (i.e. warm like sake, cold like vodka, etc) or is it normally just drunk straight room temp? I'm getting all excited now laugh.gif

It's served cold and you can drink it a lot of different ways. With some fresh squeezed lemon juice, or with those yogurt drinks for yogurt soju, or just drink it as is but i've always had it cold. smile.gif
