So I'm interested in buying a Korean phone from the store hankookphone.com. I already have a Verizon account and number and I understand that Korean phones need the Verizon network.

So say I purchase an Anycall or Sky phone, 1)will i need to get a new number?

2) Will I need to make a contract with Hankookphone?

My friend showed me a Sky phone she bought from there that was $150 (i think it was the s230 model or something). But that is pretty cheap. I know that depending on the phone it could cost almost $1000.

no, you don't need to get a new number from what i know. i don't think there's any contract involved with hankookphone, but you need to extend your contract with verizon i think~

but in my honest opinion, there are so many problems when you use a korean phone (sky or anycall) with verizon. unless everyone you communicate with use verizon, if you receive a txt msg from someone who doesn't use verizon, their number won't show up, which means that you'd have no idea who the txt is from. also, u can't send or receive any mms~ basically, you're only limited to calling and txting~ so not worth it!

one more thing.. with anycall i believe your number can't start with a 1 it has to be like 0 something somethign something.. and when you input the people's phone number you have to put 0 something something something or else you won't know who is calling you.. but you call them the way you usually call 1 something something something. hahaha its really confusing but id idn't get anycall for that reason. i had a sky phone tho but text messages were okay.
