On Jan. 9, Se7en released a Chinese-language album in five Asian regions--China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore--at the same time. Targeting the Chinese-speaking regions, his new album carries all the songs he sang for his second album that was released in Korea, along with songs he sang in Chinese such as "Please Come" ("L," "Fengxue Riji" in Chinese) and the bonus track "Once, Only Once."
To mark the release of his Chinese-language album, Se7en gave a press conference at Wangfujing Hotel in Beijing, China on the afternoon of Jan. 10. The press conference was covered by journalists from about 40 news media outlets, including TVs and dailies.
In the press interview, Se7en was applauded when he answered the question "Do you think you have a rival in China?" by saying, "My rival is none other than myself."
In the press interview, journalists asked Se7en questions about interesting episodes concerning the recording of his Chinese-language album, his views of his fans in Asian nations, including Korea and Japan, and his favorite fashion style. After answering questions in Korean, Se7en asked back in Chinese, "Do you like my Chinese songs?"
In a later presentation showcasing his songs, Se7en sang "Tattoo" in Korean and "Fengxue Riji" in Chinese. About 500 of his Chinese fans who were in attendance sang "Fengxue Riji" along with him in unison, although the album had been released only a day before.
Se7en received video messages from Chinese entertainers belonging to "Dongfang 21," a Chinese management agency that is also in charge of Se7en's programs in China, and from his Chinese fans celebrating the release of his new album.
After finishing his first-phase schedule in China, Se7en flew to Hong Kong on Jan. 11 to begin three days of album promotion activities. In Hong Kong, Se7en will attend the "12th China Music Awards" ceremony sponsored by Channel V as the only foreign artist to attend the event. On Jan. 14, he will fly back to China to attend the "Best Chinese Music Awards" ceremony to be held in Shanghai. He will return to Seoul on Jan. 16.
"Breaking away from his previous sphere of activities in Japan and Thailand, Se7en will expand his area of activities to the entire Asian region beginning this year. Se7en did not work briskly in the country last year. But with the release of his third album scheduled for March lending momentum, he will begin full-scale activities in the entire Asian region, including Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan," said an official from Se7en's agency YG Entertainment.
