Alright, yeah, I agree with what Chaymia said the other day lol. I really don't know what the hell we're talking about anymore. Taiji turning mainstream and Taiji boys being better than his solo stuff and Taiji starting the whole modern kpop thing and blah blah.

quadshock, I don't really know what you're getting at anymore. Are you still trying to say that Taiji is turning mainstream or whatever? That he's started doing music to suit the general public? Or are you just trying to say that Taiji boys are better than his solo stuff? Or.. something else? blink.gif

After reading this, I'm relieved that the next album is in the works.. I remember how hard it was waiting after Taijiboys broke up and not knowing if there was going to be a next album or not. Anyways.. I read some posts in the previous page about Seo Taiji and Boys being mainstream and here's my 2 cents. Every album Seo Taiji released (Group and Solo) was totally different from what was popular at that time in Korea and he faced a lot of criticism because the critics didn't think Koreans were ready for that style of music so he wasn't mainstream to start off but because his music was so great and a lot of people loved it.. it became mainstream? huh.gif Ah I dont know.. what the heck does mainstream mean anyways? Is it good? Is it bad? ah whatever.. I always loved his music and I've always been amazed by the quality of every album he put out since Seo Taiji & Boys 1st. GOOOO Seo Taiji!!

You read that?? I saw he posted that on his website, but I can't read Korean at all lol.

I know he's supposedly been working on his next album for like a year and a half though >_<

^Yeah, I love the box for record of the 7th and also the Live Tour Zero DVDs. They're a lot more unique than the other DVDs I buy.

I already downloaded most of the performances too, but I didn't really mind it cause I could watch any Taiji performance X amount of times lol. And having them on DVD is a plus.

mainstream IS when you do music that conforms to the general audience's taste. So if his music back then was not the norm (which I thought was true since the beginning) then it's not mainstream. Just because people imitate it afterward doesn't mean it was mainstream. And of course mainstream does not always equal bad. It just happens to be that way 95% of the time.
