sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just quite confused with all these stuff on "GOOGLE"

Muscle Mass

Of course, my only source of information is "Google"
But since most information are basically summaries of books, and the whole thing is basically advertising the book, it's difficult to know which is true sleep.gif
But as for people in Soompi, we don't do such stuff, and I believe most members here anyway tongue.gif

Blah anyway, Muscle mass..... there's not really any definition that I could found.. but I'm assuming it's growing your muscle or something?

here are myths, and truths, problem is, IDK which is which XD
-Do any mass that you could take, but do it till failure.
-Some say.... you do medium ish mass, and again till failure... and the purpose is to damage your muscle a little bit, and when it heals, it should grow a lil bit.
-Another one say Doing a heavy weight, but low reps, is as good as useless. Medium weights with many reps is much more better.
-none mention fat or whatever, quite odd I think, since the next bit has a lot to do with fat.

Well which one is true....
What exactly do you have to do to get Muscle mass.......

Muscle Tone
okay at least I kinda now what this is.
But again, what do I need to do?

some say...
-Do low reps with many sets, medium weight/anything you could do till 15 reps and you can get muscle tone.
-Lose fat, and you'll get it
-if you lose fat, you lose muscle
2nd and 3rd info contradicts there sleep.gif

-Everyone have Muscle, it's just that fat is covering them
-Weights trainning is the best way to lose fat, more than cardio or anything.

Well.. if these two are right.. then why are we talking about fat? I mean.. if you do weights, you're probably gonna lose your fat anyway. So it's kinda process thingy ya know?

You do weights -> You lose fat & you tone/grow muscle at the same time.
So why people tell you to lose fat first? I mean.. if weight lifting is the best way to lose fat... why bother losing fat first? you can just do weights, and so you tone + Lose the fat.

FInally... correct me if I am wrong.
Muscle mass.... will grow your muscle. but it will not be visible unless you flex it.
While Muscle tone, even in your normal/relaxed state, without flexing, your muscle will still be visible and defined and is hard.

So my point is... Basically if you have big muscle mass, your arms won't look big unless you tone it ah? the way to make it look big is by flexing it. rite? Unless you tone it, it will be naturally looking big and looks popping out?

anyways Please tell me which one is correct lol........ help a lost kid here.

muscle mass is the amount of muscular tissue you have.

when you work out, the whole point is to wear/break down your muscles. your body compensates by building extra muscle fibers to adapt to the work load.

medium reps are more specifically for hypertrophy (muscle synthesis), and low reps with high weight are more geared towards strength, BUT you cannot gain one without gaining the other. for example, if you do low reps you get stronger, but to get stronger you must gain some muscle. similarly, to gain more muscle doing medium weights you will indirectly get stronger.

however, a specific number of reps and sets does not apply for everyone. it is up to you to experiment and see which is best for your body, depending on your goals.

Please wikipedia or google - Muscular Tissue

Then Wikipedia or google - Body Fat

Then I want you to discard the word "toned" it is too misleading on soompi and has too many odd meanings - so toss it out! Pick people that are active or in shape - for example.

The best people to listen to are those that have the bodies you want or have bodies that show some form of "knowledge or expertise". So maybe you should consider just listening to Laris and ignore the people that don't have nice bodies.

I have never gone wrong by choosing to listen to guys and girls that can prove with evidence ( their bodies ) that they have a clue.

Your arms just won't look as cut up or pretty if you don't "tone" it because there is just so much fat in the way.
