T.O. gets laughs with Letterman
There was a skit on the Late Show With David Letterman last night in which Terrell Owens was hit by a cab.
The Eagles wide receiver delivered some verbal hits of his own.
In a chat with Letterman, Owens stated his desire to play with the Colts' Peyton Manning, repeated that his relationship with quarterback Donovan McNabb has healed, and talked about wanting to return to the Super Bowl.
Because Owens rarely gives interviews these days, when he talks - even rehashing old stories and hamming it up on a late-night talk show - it becomes news.
"I could really just envision myself playing with a guy like Peyton Manning," Owens said when Letterman asked with which quarterback, "besides his good buddy" McNabb, Owens would like to play.
"Donovan and I... we've come to grips with all the things that have happened during the course of the off-season and during training camp," Owens said. "And, you know, we have a mutual respect for each other, and we're on the same page right now and we're off to where we left off last year - and that was winning ball games."
Given the opportunity by Letterman to say that McNabb was tired in the Super Bowl - something Owens had insinuated in a television interview - Owens didn't bite.
"No, that wasn't me," Owens said, laughing with the audience.
When Letterman asked Owens if he doubted McNabb's leadership in the Super Bowl, Owens said he did not, then cracked a joke of his own.
"Not at all," he said. "I wish I had some headphones now."
Headphones have become a staple of Owens' uniform, something he pops on to tune out reporters and others after games. He has not talked to local reporters since speaking from his driveway after being banned from training camp.
Owens said his controversy-filled off-season was not entirely his fault.
"You know, I think some things are just taken out of context, and you know how the media can misconstrue things," he said.

No one should ever listen to this idiot ever again. I mean, he said he was misquoted in his own book, while he was supposedly writing it with Drew Rosenhaus' brother. Second, it was calling Owens a "hero" or something among those lines. Usually when you state that you're misquoted, it's for something negative.
Just watch the guy football, cause that's the only thing he's good at.
