It's generally better to switch the time after your period, on the very first pill of a new monthly cycle. I don't know about any side effects should you not do this.. I know I change the time from night to morning but I don't know if I waited until a cycle had finished. Depending on your pill it should be OK to take it a few hours later than usual and still be good to go, maybe take it when you first get up? But it might be a good idea to google around for info on your brand. My doctor told me my brand's pill is good for 24 hours, even taken with the next day's @_@ I vary my time between 8am and 11am.
Butttttt I'm so bad at making connections to things happening in my body and the stuff I do xD I couldn't tell you whether this gives me side effects

It usually says on the package that it is fine as long as you take a pill within the 24 hour period. If you are really scared, than use a condom as an extra measure for a day or two, but I don't think it's necessary.

it's best to change the time at the beginning of the new pill pack.. but I believe you'll be okay. When I was on yaz, i could miss two pills and still be protected.. so I'm pretty sure that changing less than 24hr will be okay, as long as you finish off the pack at the same time and don't switch back and forth. Anyways, not trying to be rude of anything, if you having sex in hk it won't matter because your body will def have adjusted to the new timing in two weeks..

If you have the time make a gradual change to the new pill time. For instance instead of taking it at 4:30pm you take it at 5:30pm then the next day you take it at 6:30 making a slow change. It helps if you are especially sensitive to changes in your pill time.
I would start doing it the week before your trip so your body would adjust to the new time. If you're worried about your pill becoming ineffective, you can be late to take your pill up to 4 hrs before side effects may occur like break through bleeding. You also may be more sensitive to a time change the last few days leading up to your period/placebo so instead of an hour difference between the days like 4:30 to 5:30 go 4:30 to 5:00. If you are absolutely concerned with possibly getting pregnant double up and wear a condom as well.
****This is based on if you haven't started your period/ or in the middle or start of a pack. If you've reached your placebo pills and aren't taking a low dose estrogen pill like mircette, kariva or azurette you can freely change during that week without worry to the new time.*****
I had to change my time too and found that was the best way to make the switch easy.
