Sometimes when i talk on the phone with a friend, we'd run out of things to say.. even if its a really good friend. MSN too, sometimes i just run out of things to say and end the convo... I dont like to go out/chill if its just with 1 friend, its really awkward at times...

share your experiences?

I dislike phone conversations, cause it's awkward and hard to end it for me
even in person, I don't really have anything interesting to say
I feel like my very few friends don't want to hangout at all, they usually never call me, or text me
I always have to initiate the texting and propose that we hangout
I'm a lame person, and my friends are lame too, we're all just lame people, mellow.gif

Lol. That only ever happens to me if I'm really tired, and can't focus on the convo.
If I'm hanging out with one friend it's fine, I can talk and carry the conversation myself.

But silence during a conversation is nice, it lets you think!
It's much better when you're outside and you can take in the nature.

I do know how to feel though, especially when meeting new people;
when they don't respond the way you want them to, during a conversation, such like...
excited or you feel they're not into the conversation much. I usually just end it. Haha. Sad.

i actually like the 1 on 1 set-up better than when i'm with a bigger group of friends coz i could pay attention more. when in a group it's like everyone talks at the same time so i tend to keep quiet and let them compete with each other. LOL

Yeah. That's why whenever I go hangout with someone I need at least one or two more people with me, so that the conversations can keep going. I don't like large groups, though, anything over 5 people (including myself) is too much.

I feel awkward when it's just me and another person. That's why whenever I go out with friends, I want another person to be there so there's at least three of us, instead of two :|

When it's talking on the phone -- if you're someone other than my best friend, I won't be talking to you for more than five or ten minutes because it's that awkward for me to talk to someone on the phone.

Yup.

Especially if they're friends I hang out with but don't speak to on MSN or on the phone very often.

Even though large groups of people can be a lot of fun, I actually prefer being in a smaller group of people. Not necessarily one on one, unless the person I am associating with is a REALLY close friend. My closest friends receive that title because I feel completely comfortable around them. Not always, but the majority of the time. My best friend I feel COMPLETELY comfortable around, and that's why we're best friends smile.gif

if you run out of things to talk about maybe you dont have enough hobbies or enough in common. if you havent done anything in a while then its hard to think about what to talk about.

depending in who im talking to i mighf run outta things to say but if we both dont know what to say then ill just end the convo

That's why I hate talking on the phone for full out conversations.

But I'm absolutely fine with (and would much rather have) 1-on-1s with my friends.

I have a friend who finds it awkward sometimes though when the conversation has a silent pause, but I think if you're comfortable with somebody enough, then the silent pause would never come across as "awkward". 'Cause when there's a pause, you kind of force out whatever first comes up in your mind, and things just get even more awkward when it becomes quite obvious how forced your words become. So it's definitely better to come to terms with the silence, and get used to it because you're not going to be talking non-stop in every single conversation you're going to have with them.

Ah yeah, I have this one friend who I hang out with a lot--or used to, that is--and things would get kind of awkward except I dunno if she thought it was too. Anyway, especially with her, I think it's awkward telling her things, and I dunno, maybe it just means we weren't really that close, I dunno. But even around other friends who I'm close with, I never have things to say, and if I say anything I'm thinking, I usually sound stupid, I dunno, haha, blehhh,

This is why I'm not fond of having mindless online conversations. There's like absolutely nothing to talk about when compared to real life convos. When the convo dies down online, it's awkward as hell, and when someone tries to bring it back to life, it's even more awkward because then you'd have to force yourself to sound interested(cause by then, you'd be too lazy to even attempt reviving anything). Me & instant messaging = a big no no.

But I can handle awkwardness in real life. Everything ends up with us laughing like crazy bafoons. Anyway, phone conversations never die down, it's like having a conversation in real life, except it's a bit more difficult when you want to show your friend something, which would most likely lead to silly(but funny) little arguments. Ah, good tymz. Good tymz. LOL.
one life, one love.
