In limewire, how do you prevent viruses when downloading?
I know I used to have Limewire& my friend told me to go to options and disable something. But I downloaded limewire again& I forgot everything. I also know one of the ways of preventing viruses is to not share files& to also be aware mose .exe files contains viruses. But is there anymore ways to prevent viruses by going to the options?
Thnx

Not much to do. Basically if you want to be safe, download the stuff you want... anything you want. Dont run it from limewire and go to the download directory instead. If the files are .exe, .vb, or .vbs its a good chance it is a virus. You should scan with an antivirus before double clicking anything.
If the file is a .exe and it seems like it is supposed to be the correct file, try to open it in winrar. A lot of times they compress as EXE files so you dont need to use winrar or winzip to extract... you know automatic decompression. Dont double click it, try to extract it with winrar instead if it doesnt open consider it extremely suspicious and delete it.
