Hi, so i just registered for a fido plan around a week ago and i have a few questions
currently i have the 25$/month plan with unlimited text, 100 minutes and unlimited evenings and weekends.

right now i just checked my online account and i got a total amount needed to pay (and its pretty high)

so my question is:
since its not been one full cycle yet, and i have to pay 25$ a month + a one time activation fee of 35$, does this show up as a total amount on the my fido account as 60$ + tax? I can't really check right now for the complete details of the charges beacuse it says i have no invoices (probably because it hasnt been a complete month yet), it just says the total amount due. And the amount kinda worries me beacuse it was high... and im not sure if this is the charge for going "over the limit" or if its a complete charge of the 25$ per month + 35$ activation fee + any other charges.

also, i was wondering for anyone who has used japanese cell phones (especially in canada) and is with fido.. do u get charged for roaming or international calls when you call to people that is "in the same city?" Or do you get charged for roaming because its not "japan?".

also i have one last question: the unlimited text messaging option, it includes unlimited incoming and outgoing yes? Do you also get charged if you register for like the facebook mobile service>where they text you status updates, wall posts, and messages? If so, how much per message>?

is there any other exceptions for getting charged in text messaging (even when you have unlimited)?

sorry for long post, im just really worried and im unsure right now as to what the total amount applies too, as it is my first time ><"

Hey~ I have the same exact plan as yours & I used to have a japanese phone too ^^ I don't think you get charged when you call people in the same city. And the unlimited text messaging includes incoming & outgoing, so I don't think you would get charged for that. What I did get charged with was that on the day I signed up for the plan, I called my friend and we talked for like half an hour or something, and got charged 4 dollars? I talked to them, and they told me that the plan doesn't start until the next day, so I got charged per minute on the first day..

You should double check your bill anyways for extra charges. But having an unsually high cost for first billing does make sense to me.

I've used Fido last year, and I didn't get charged for incoming Facebook Mobile text alert things.

Some imported phones may display the Roaming Icon even when you use it in your Home Area, apparantly, this isn't uncommon for Fido/Rogers networks. I bought my ex an imported Cookie, and it still says that it's "roaming" but she never received roaming charges. This was as of Spring of 2009.

I believe you might get charged for MSN Alerts, and other misc premium text services (like subscription to short code programs)...OH YEA, I had unlimted texting on Bell (yea it's not Fido but...) and I voted for some NHL game event, and I got charged 25 cents. haha ^^;; yea not really relevant but yeea.
