ok i'm Korean, all my friends really are Korean, I only have like one white friend. I don't feel comfortable around them a lot with an exception with one kid, he's chill and is cool with asians, and isn't an a$$hole like most i've encountered with. sometimes I'm afraid to hang around with him cuz I feel like I'll get dirty looks from other korean kids. i've never seen any asian kid chilling with a white kid or any white kid chilling with an asian kid here, it's extremely rare, and I'm just wondering if other korean kids would look at me dirty for being friend with a white??? cuz a lot of asians hang out strictly only with their ethnicity, plus how can you make friends with other races if your not good at English???

You should hang with whoever you want to. I guess where you live nobody hangs with other races but here in north america it is all too often, even races dating each other. Who cares about what they think? I'm really good friends with some koreans and I get upset at times that they chill with their own kind when not with me because what's the diff? They hang exclusively with themselves and most ppl do that too it's true (I do not).

are you kidding me? either you must live in a really prejudiced state or something. If your friends make fun of you or look down on you then you shouldn't be friends with them in the first place. Where i live, it doesn't matter what race they are or how they look like, anyone is allowed to be friends with ANYONE they want.

I kind of see where you're coming from. I go to a school where probably 90% of them are homophobic to some degree. A lot of people avoid ME because I have friends who are lesbian and they're afraid I'll "become" one too. And the 90% are Japanese or have some Japanese background so they really only hang out with each other. I'm half Japanese and half Korean, myself, but I only hang out with white people, mexicans, and asians who think they're white.
You don't have to be great at English to make friends with non-Korean people. A lot of the international students at my school don't speak great English and they continue to not speak great English because they only hang out in their groups, which makes them less likely to be able to make other ethnic friends. You just need to put yourself out there, joke around a little and keep an open mind (there are a$$holes out there, though, I agree). If you make grammatical mistakes, just laugh it off. Native speakers don't expect you to be perfect because it isn't YOUR native language. My only Japanese friend spoke horrible English at first, but he really wanted to make friends with Americans so he stuck around and just picked up on the lingo. It's hard work at first, but you ease into it if you have good friends.
If you like your friend, you should stick with him. People who look down on you because your friends with other ethnic people aren't worth your time because they're too small-minded to appreciate good people. If they give you a dirty look, give them one back. Are you in America? You can always yell at them, "WELCOME TO AMERICA." And if you ever spot them in a fast food joint (McDonalds, Burger King, etc) or drink places (Starbucks, Jamba Juice), you can say, "I thought you didn't consort with the enemy?"
