I can see that, but it's too good of a source to exercise for me to want to give up. How much I jog, not run:
Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat: 30 min jogging on 5.0 treadmill and 20 min of walking on the treadmill before and after jogging,
to warm up/cool down.
I mean I'm not doing it everyday, and my speed and length shouldn't be too harsh right? Although I plan on increasing
my jogging time to 40 min. becomes 30 min. has become kind of easy for me.

But if you can't use an elliptical, just run a few days of the week or every other day.

Just go to a good running shoes store, and ask the experts to help you pick out a shoe.

and if you do feel injury, as soon as you feel it, you should put ice on it. massage it out if you can (use an athletic roller), and rest. if its that bad, you should consider physical therapy. Running is good for you, but not when you overdo it

My dad tells me to run on grass because it puts less pressure on your knees.

you have to strengthen and increase the flexibility of the core muscles (mid/lower abs and lower back) plus your legs to avoid injuring your knees. if you don't have a strong core and are not flexible in your legs extra pressure is placed on your knees.
