There's tons of all those protein power and it can be pretty confusing. I just want to know which ones are best bang for the buck type of powder. Trying to lose fat without losing the muscles.....I guess its best if Makev or Kenin can answer it since they use protein powder themselves. Which flavor is good btw? THank you for your help

Protein sources in the actual powders: there is rice, hemp, soy and a few others but milk based is the most common. I have tried the others and always go back to whey.
The least refined is casein. It is digested the slowest and helps to maintain raised amino acid levels in your blood in hopes of staving off the effects of catabolism. For this reason I like this before going to bed at night and mixed with other proteins during the day.
In terms of quality, on the lowest rung is the WPC (whey protein concentrate). It contains fat, lactose etc that has yet to be removed. It's not horrible but just remember to figure these additional additives in your diet.
Next up in the process are the isolates. Name itself is self-explanatory: concentrate is filtered once again by many different methods to isolate the protein from the lactose and fat etc. in the concentrate.
Next comes the Hydrolysates: isolates are further broken down, and protein is hydrolyzed which produces small chaines of amino-acids called peptides. In layman's terms it comes "pre digested" for quicker absorption.
These are the major players. The difference between manufacturers is one of filtering. Cheap whey is commonly made by using very strong acids to separate casein and whey. This results in an inferior product usually with plenty of flavoring added as a selling feature. The rest of the filtering processes used for isolates such as micro, cross, ion -ex etc all have their minute differences but are not all that important. The explanation for these are rather long so you should research them yourself if you're really curious.
Laris' recommendation is good. Optimum is a very reputable brand and it tastes great. Supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA so keep caveat emptor in mind.

"But when it ends and while it ends, something comes, after so much rage, persistence, obstinacy, extravagance; something entirely unexpected and touching in its mildness and goodness. With the motif passed through many vicissitudes, which takes leave and so doing becomes itself entirely leave-taking, a parting wave and call, with this D G G occurs a slight change, it experiences a small melodic expansion. After an introductory C, it puts a C sharp before the D. . .and this added C Sharp is the most moving, consolatory, pathetically reconciling thing in the world. It is like having one's hair or cheek stroked, lovingly, understandingly, like a deep and silent farewell look. . . . " (Mann: 55).

I like rocky road from ON, but I'd prefer something else as I dont like marshmallows.
Cookies and cream is NASTY. I always got a splitting headache drinking that. I sold it to my friend who actually loved C&C. Glad there are those who like it!
