Hi
We make this dish of soup sometimes buut don't know where it comes from or what is good for?
It is made using pork bones then you gently boil the bones for say 60 minutes then you put in :-
Skinless raw peanuts (white in colour, floating in the soup)
Red flower buds (i don't know what these are but they are small and unopened)
Also dried longan or lychee (i dont know which they are but they are brown, dry and hard but expand into soft brown balls of fleshy fruit about the size of a thumb once boiled)
And that's it.
I dont know what the dish is called and I dont know which chinese culture makes it.
Is it teochew?
it's sort of medicinal and its very nice. im hoping to find out what it is good for.
