I've always felt doing like thirty minutes of high-intensity (basically, tons of sweating and pushing yourself) cardio is more conductive towards weight loss than doing long periods of low-intensity (an hour of walking).
But my mom is telling me that walking for the hour is better than running for thirty minutes if I want to lose weight faster. Is that true? I do seem to burn more calories (since the time is longer), but I don't sweat at all.

What your mom says is not true. You consume more oxygen when pushing yourself harder, thus requiring more calories. It also depends on how fast and how hard you run.
