System boot up problem

so this morning, i started up my comp like i do normally but this time.. it just displayed a black screen.. as i i couldnt see the main windows screen.. so i went on my sisters computer, came back.. turned it on.. and it worked.. anybody kno what might be the problem? i run a windows XP home..

Well if it doesnt show anything does it do anything? Like make the sounds of a happy computer?

My computer sometimes does taht. I usually power it off and turn it back on or hit reset a few times and it all works happy bubbly.

Guys my guess with your problem is the
Power supply is going bad...
especially if you all use i can't readty generic power supplies for your pc.

My suggestion is to get a good power supply and your problem almost 90% should get resolved, unless your computer has another boot virus etc.

you mean it loaded and showed everything up until the main windows screen? or didn't show anything at all?

i guess if it's working now, you can just leave it and hope... but if it keeps occurring then it's time to dust off the baseball bat...
