When your in a chair you can do leg raises and lower ab raises for ab work..

You could crunch your abs together while driving and hold for 30 seconds and release for 30 seconds til you get to your destination..

You could practice good posture while standing or sitting.

In bed you can do crunches..

During commercials you can do pushups, situps, squats, lunges

When cleaning the floor you can clean it traditional ajumae style and mumble in satoori while on your knees using rags to clean the floor instead of a mop!

When vacuuming you can use only one arm and rotate your hips and put your butt and hips into the movement to drive the vacuum instead of using 2 hands and leaning forward and back.

At a concert with banging music - instead of just laying out or sitting you can START A DANCE PARTY!

Honestly, you may think differently but this is just from experience, I wouldn't recommend doing actual crunches in bed since your sinking in more and you may end up pulling on your neck more since it's a lot harder and uncomfortable and when you go down it feels like you're not controlling it at all and just falling.

I do recommend doing leg lifts though, since you're targeting you're lower abs and no strain on your neck or anything.

Then again, you are the expert... just expressing my opinion.

I don't think you're supposed to have strain on your neck at all when doing crunches. It's all abs. If you're straining your neck or head it probably means you're doing them wrong.

nice, but if you are in any way at all using your hands to pull on your neck ~ you haven't learned the first thing about doing a crunch. better off practicing sitting up in bed without using your hands then. A lot of what you described is mainly beginner issues with control. crunches can get both the uppder middle and lower abs. since we are talking about hitting the abs in total when discussing the crunch wink.gif but thats a valid suggestions.

hip/leg thrusts are also something a person could do in bed. but this all is mainly to do with the topic -

"Exercises to do while your.... "

* a person is never to use their hands to pull on their head or neck to accomplish a crunch/situp or any other ab exercise, this is a beginner mistake and not safe.

Many variations of lunging and as laris said 1 legged squats and also jump-squats. Squat all the way down and then jump as high as you can then when you land squat back down.

When you're at the park.
Instead of taking the steps up to the jungle gym.
Climb up the bar!

When you're going up stairs
*CAN BE RISKY*
Run and jump by skipping every other step

When you're in class
You have a desk behind you
Do some shrugs!

A lower ab raise, I call them leg lifts unless you're suggesting something else besides that.
It's when you're laying flat on your back with your hands beside your hip and you lift you're legs up together to a 45 degree angle
