So I got my SAT scores and I didn't do so well (in my own opinion anyways)
Math - 580
Reading - 580
Writing - 510
Essay - 7

I'm aiming for MIT, but that seems like a dismal hope with those scores.

And since I'm graduating early, I don't have much time left for anything. Should I consider taking the SATs in October?

How hard the SAT Subject tests too? I have to do a Math one and a Physics one.

If your goal is MIT, then yes, retake it. That score will not cut it. The 25th percentile of students admitted to MIT have a 2070. 75% of the student body have a higher GPA. The 75th percentile of scores is a 2340.

Sorry to say, that is not anywhere close to MIT status.

You need much higher than that.

Unless you're a Native American Olympic athlete who's cured cancer AND the common cold, the likelihood of getting into MIT is slim with those SAT scores, sorry. Especially when MIT has one of the highest median test scores in the nation (75%tile is 2340?! WTF?!). But if you're into something like engineering, there are a other good schools you COULD get into even without spectacular test scores.

Try taking the ACT haha... that's my generic advice.

I took Math II, and I didn't do as well as I thought I did.... I forgot my non-right triangle trig, so as long as you remember that you should do fine.

I heard physics is one of the harder SAT II sciences.

Anyways, I reccomend taking full length SAT prep books because they will help raise your score.

Good luck!

You absolutely need to retake the SATs and math 2c is extremely easy. Idk about physics though. It seems like you're procrastinating on these standarized tests! bad!

SAT scores aren't everything, but...1670?

If you got a 580 in the math section of SAT 1, you're pretty much screwed for SAT 2 math.

Don't slack off in your SAT studies. If you have the money and time, sign up for a good SAT prep class.
Or, if you have the willpower, buy a few books and study on your own.

Even if you study really hard until October, I doubt that your mark will rise enough for MIT.

You're going to be applying to MIT as an engineer major- I presume? It's highly unlikely you're going to get 2300+ in your SAT I's. However, there's a good chance of you getting an 800 on the math portion of the SAT if you study hard, so you should give that a shot. It'll at least boost your chances a little, seeing how I bet 90 percent of the applicants to MIT have a math score of 800 and an iq of 250. Jk about the 250.

You can forget about MIT. You'd have to get a 500+ point increase on your next SAT and take those SAT II (MATH II & Physics) and score an 800 on both like every other engineering applicant for MIT. MIT is impossible for you to get in, it's a SUPER SUPER HIGH reach.
Aim for your local state universities/colleges for a much better chance.
