I was trying to do karaoke, but decided that's too much work. Now I want to make the lyric lines fade in and out instead of appearing like regular subtitles. Can someone post a sample code of how to do that? Thanks in advance!

Whats the difference with lyrics fading in and out than "regular subtitles"? To me it seems the same but with some sort of extra script in your hard sub application.
Its going to take the same amount of time, if not longer with fading lyrics in and out.
