I'm taking biochemistry and applied probability and statistics. It's gonna be 3hrs/day, 5days/wk..how about you guys?

Has anyone ever taken 2 pretty hard classes in the same session? Class starts next week for me and I'm a little bit nervous. I'm thinking about switching one to an easy online course. A part of me says it won't be too bad because during the school year I take 5-7 classes a semester but all the material just gets dumped on you so fast for summer classes ahh i dunno what to do

I'm taking two classes (English and Stats) and it's a breeze. Just make sure you stay on top of your work because it's easier to fall behind in the summer (besides lots of distractions, work tends to pile up more because the class is of a faster pace than a semester long course).

it depends.

do you work?
do you volunteer?
do you want to be social and hang out with friends?

unfortunately, my answer to all of the above is yes sad.gif

i'm taking 10 semester units this summer. My classes are Cultural Anthropology (online), Linear Algebra, and a critical thinking English course. It costs me five hours of class a day (2 for math, 3 for english) Monday-Thursday. Plus I work weekdays so my week is absolute hell. If I could rewind back time I wouldn't have taken all of these classes at once. But whatev, I'm cutting back on sleep. I can manage. lol.

3 weeks to go..

it depends on how long the session is...for session 1 i took 2 classes; a studio production class and a psych class but they were fairly easy, as the session was only a month long, whereas now session 2 (which is a little more than a month) i'm taking a experimental psych course with lab which also has a lot of writing to do, and it's the only class i'm taking right now but it's quite overwhelming...so it depends on the kind of course you take, the professor, and the length of the session; you could say that summer classes are like crash courses; taking a full semester's workload and compressing it to a month or two.

My school doesn't accept credit for online courses... understandable, of course. I'm currently taking Psychology 100 & Japanese 101 at my local community college to get rid of some of my elective requirements. Not very difficult courses for me yet as we just began the session, but yes, the workload moves exceptionally fast due to time constraints! I'm wiped out after I finish my homework... sleep.gif

I just finished Biochem last week with a B. It was only for the first term (obviously), but it was pretty easy if not hella boring. I took two classes (World Lit and Calculus) the summer after my freshman year. I aced both of them, but they were for both terms. I noticed that I tend to do better during summer courses than during regular term. I guess because it's less to study, and the time period makes it easier to remember the material.

I'm taking College Algebra and General Chem at the moment.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday

8AM-10AM: Math class
10AM-11AM: Do math homework/study for math
11AM-4PM: Study for Chemistry.
4PM-5PM: Get lunch/dinner
5:30PM-9PM: Chem lecture/lab
9PM-Midnight: Study for math if there's a test the next morning.

I have two tests every two weeks and quizzes every week. So I have very minimal time to recuperate my brain to function again. I study for an average of 40 hrs. a week when it's test week, and I study during the weekends too. I have straight A's right now, but it took a lot of work, and a lot more work to do still. It's time consuming and a lot of work, but it's doable. I wouldn't have mind taking another class like econ or sociology with my two summer classes. If you're actually going to try your best, it's not hard, and I love it because the class goes by super fast. I don't have to take a class for 6 months you know? It's worth it. I'm totally dragging the fall semester, I don't want to be in class for 6 months again, it's going to go by really really slow compared to this.

I'm taking 1 class in Session 1 and another class in Session 2.
I was a little intimidated by taking 2 classes in 1 Session lol-- and I was right, the workload is crazy for one class and I'm lazy xD

If your not in a rush to graduate then I think it's better to just take it easy.

I also think its better to take it easy.

I took calculus last summer for 4.5 hours a day for 4 days a week, 6 weeks in all.

I've been taking Multicultural Family and Human Ecology & Health. Both have been intensely easy. biggrin.gif

I think taking a math and science class in summer would be pretty hard. sad.gif

it's been 3 years since i've taken summer classes, but i did two upper division courses in one summer. an anthropology class and a government one. i went to school for 3-6 hours a day about 3-4 days a week. i forgot exactly. but it wasn't so bad. it was much better than taking 4 classes in one semester.

not this summer, but I'll likely be taking summer classes next year. Linear Algebra and English, if all goes right.

hey... I'm doing 3 hrs/day 5 days/wk too....
but it's one course , Intro to Psychology. I'm starting next week and it's going to be for one month.

Personally I wouldn't switch to an online course because the actual act of getting up and going to school motivates me more. Anything online = more procrastination to me.....
