I was watching the T.V. show called "Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern". He travels across the globe and dine on delicacies that are deemed gross to viewers. Andrew Zimmern eats just about anything such as insects, wild animals, etc. So, I was wondering. What bizzare foods have you tried? For me, I've eaten the following:

balut:

pig blood:

durian:

I've seen the episodes of Andrew Zimmern where he's eaten cow testicles and yak penis blink.gif

For me, the weirdest would have to be quail, cow stomach, and durian. Durian is especially vile

I don't think ox tail is weird~ smile.gif

These were weird for me...
grilled cow tongue
blood sausage (soondae)
intestines
chicken gizzard
I think tripe looks&feels weird when you eat it ><
raw sea squirts (munggae)

A lot of em are actually really good though. lol.

LOL yea it tastes quite unusual actually and you can't eat the outside of the starfish because after it's cooked, the outside is hard like a rock. There's like some mooshy brownish-grey gooey stuff on the inside that you eat and it's similar to what you will find under a crab shell, although it tastes nothing like crab brains, the texture is similar.

Can't really describe the taste... it's not salty or anything but the texture is funky... almost sponge like.

i think balut is deliciouss. a little salt and pepper, just slurp the soup and eat it yumm!
pigs blood - reminds me of tofu but with a different taste. my mom usually puts it in rice porridge smile.gif
durian - i hate how it smells, its either a hate or love thing. my mom and i hate it but my dad loves it lol

Ahh i've had raw horse meat too! Tastes kind of like beef except it has a hint of wild game taste and a deeper after taste.

I've had Cariboo, Elk, and Bison too. Cariboo is SOOO good OMG! Wish they sold that stuff commercially on a bigger scale. Hard to find places that serve it. No wonder the Canadian aboriginals love that stuff... Elk is kinda bleh... and Bison tastes just like beef except it's a tougher meat to chew.

OoH STARFish interesting (how does it taste ?texture wise )

I have eaten durian actually its like a national fruit here soo yeap they dont taste that bad if u overcome the smell downside if u eat too much of durian you will get fever since its a very heaty fruit.

Rabbit (I was freaking conned by my friend the family cook it and cut in into nugget size kay i would never eat rabbits because they are too cute )

Deer meat ( taste like a softer beef version but it was cook with blackpepper soo the smell was superb)

snails etc escargo( i didnt realize what it was since my mom chop it n fried it into the egg it wass really gummy like really springy when i took it out of my mouth i ask my mom is this a bad calamari ? n she said no its a snail lets just say i spend the whole night in the toilet)

I was wondering how the pig blood gelatin taste like i always see it in noodles.
