Computer Keeps Freezing

About every 30 minutes or so, my computer would freeze. I've tried system restore, ran malwarebytes anti-malware, and CCleaner, but my computer still freezes
I didn't get any error messages, so I'm not sure what's making my computer freeze. What do I do?

If it's not a virus or hacking, it could be the graphic card? maybe? i'm not sure...cuz the same thing happened to my computer too; it kept on freezing and even though i got it reformatted several times, i still had the same problem...later i found out the problem was the graphic card...so yea, now my computer's fine. Check with a technician to make sure.

What are you doing when it freezes?
Since it sounds clean, I would question if your computer is just overheating. After it freezes, can you hit reset and continue to use it or do you need to wait a few minutes?

When I try to listen to music on iTunes, or when I'm just surfing the internet, it would freeze.
I just push down on the power button until the computer turns off, an then turn it back on. Tried to open up task manager or start menu to restart, but the computer stays frozen :\
I just ran Avast again and these infections came up:
Win32:RustNT [Rtk]
Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk]
the scan result:
Win32:RustNT [Rtk] was successfully deleted, but
an error occurred during file deleting for Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk]
Would those be the reason my computer keeps freezing? Win32:RustNT came up when I ran avast early today too.
Thanks for your replies!

Your computer might have bad ram, overheating CPU, a bad powesupply, an overheating video card. Open up your computer and clean the dust out, test the ram with http://www.memtest86.com/ Test the voltages on the power supply with a power supply tester like this one: http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=ODk=
Good luck with solving your restart problem!

^ Computer froze right after I clicked the memtest link
Thanks anyway!
I feel like Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk] is causing my problem because avast is unable to remove it.
It was found in here:
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{202550A8-7A33-4BCA-9586-051D24DDBF8F}\RP516\A0105777.exe\install.exe" file.
Would anyone be able to help me remove Win32:Rootkit-gen?

Alright...
Let's make sure of how bad you got infected...
Turn off your System Restore...
[If you don't know how, press win key + pause and then "System Restore" tab to check the "Turn off System Restore on all drives"... (this is for Windows XP)]
After you turn it off (Apply and OK), restart your computer...
After the restart, don't turn on your System Restore yet... Just download:
http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-Hijac...4-10227353.html
Then install it and scan with log and send all the log here or on PM.
Let's rock and roll.
