OK my friend is going to get a car from his friend so we did a carfax report on it.

Under the Milage check accuracy

In the Truth in Milage Check it says Odometer Problems Reported by a DMV

So we go under the detailed reports and it states that the DMV issued a Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title

The advisor says "An EML title is issued when the owner discloses an odometer rollover to a DMV. Rollovers occur on vehicles with 5 digit odometers that go from 99,000 to 00,000 every 100,000 miles.

Under 2 differnt dates, 2 more Exceeds Mechanical Limits Titles were issued.

My friends question, does this pose a problem to him in the future like regarding insurance and such. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

unlikely that it'll affect your insurance other than your premiums.

the older the car, the cheaper the shiet.

insurance? nope.
insurance companies don't care about how many miles a car has..nor do they care about whether or not that reading is accurate.

these are the main factors taken into consideration when calculating premiums:
-age and gender of driver
-driving record on the streets
-car type and model
-geographic location
-how much you estimated to drive daily/weekly
