Ariel Lin, female lead of idol dramas such as <It Started With A Kiss> and <Love Contract> that propelled her to fame in Taiwan and Korea alike, will be making a visit to Korea soon, for preparations to kickstart her career there.

According to one industry observer, Ariel is planning to enter the drama scene in Korea very soon. The most crucial language barrier that has plagued other foreign idols will not be a problem to her, since Ariel’s major in university was Korean.

Also, Ariel has always expressed interest in the Korean entertainment industry, and has even specially put in a Korean song in her recently released album, <Meeting Happiness>. If all goes well, Korean viewers will be able to see Ariel on their TV screens very soon.

Both <It Started With A Kiss> and <Love Contract> had high ratings when broadcast in Korea, and this has amassed a relatively large fanbase for Ariel. She even had a fanmeet last year in Korea, together with Joe Cheng, and this has only served to propel her popularity higher in Korea.

yeah... i was sort of suspecting she would since it's sort of pointless for her to graduate from a course that would more or less have no use for her.

Not surprised, I hope she does well!
She's the one of the very few young Taiwanese actress I can watch and not feel like I'm forcing myself.
And just for that,

she can so freakin' rock it.

I'm not a fan of her acting at all, her performance in ISWAK, and pretty much all dramas I've seen starring her, made me cringe and I couldn't even continue watching it. But she seems to be a cute and cheerful girl off-screen so I at least wish her good luck. Let's see if her acting in Korean dramas can change my mind about her!

I wonder what type of kdramas she'll be working on. Not sure if the really serious, pro ones are gonna be fit for what she's used to, as she's mainly been in teen idol dramas. No matter what, best of luck to her. Lol I always wondered whether she was going to go into the korean market, seeing as her major was korean. xD

Not to bash her or anything, but I think Ariel's degree in Korean is a joke >_> *remembers the embarrassing Bae Young Jun fan meeting incident*

Love her in ISWAK and Love Contract, but it's going to take a lot of work to be able to do well in a Korean drama. Best of luck to her though! It'd be awesome if Taiwanese people could expand into different markets.

I"m looking forward to see how this turns out.
To me Ariel is okay, but I wouldn't be surprised
if couldn't make with her Korean degree...
I remember when DongHae and Siwon of Super
Junior were filming a MV with her, I think I read
that they had a little language barrier problem,
in spite of her knowledge of Korean.
Correct me if I'm wrong...

but then again she spoke really little
wish her the best of luck
but it seems like koreans hate foreigners...

I think she should be fine, I mean Ayumi Lee had a thick japanese accent when she started in the industry but she was accepted(maybe it was b/c she was Korean LOL and she's a singer so....idk) but I think Ariel can make it if she works hard enough.

I just like seeing more foreigners in the Kpop industry to help balance out the money hungry companies in Korea who keep sending their artists to Japan or Taiwan smile.gif

Balance is good.

I hope her Korean has improved since the time she met Bae Yong Jun. That was kind of painful.

I think she needs to work on her accent a little more because you can clearly hear the difference.
but the best of luck to her.

hey, it would be interesting to see if she can actually break in
I wonder if her "korean" song, sounds as authentic in pronunciation as JangRiIn's korean songs?
if she can actually make it, all the more power to her (tho i dont think she is a superb actress by any means)
