Sorry if this is in the wrong part of tech forum--I don't come in that much.
I'm trying to clean up files and stuff we don't use, to make space on the harddrive. There are 2 things that I wanted to ask about before getting rid of them, just in case.
one is from the Alohabob PC relocator we used when we switched stuff from the old computer to the new one (about 5 or 6 years ago). The other one is Paint Shop Pro 7. We had a trial w/ the new computer--but the time expired, and we didn't want to buy the program--so it's unused (we only use Paint) Can I safely get rid of it without it affecting anything else? As far as the alohabob program goes, I thought it was only used for transferring data, and didn't have anything to do with anything else, but like I said--I wanted to make sure I could safely delete it. I don't want to make a mistake. ><

Yeah, just make sure you use the add remove program in the control panel rather than deleting the folders or else you might get errors.

thanks for moving this (where it belongs is a no-brainer; I need more sleep. -.- ), and replying-- If I hadn't seen the programs on there before--I probably would have tried just deleting the folders. I had no problem with Paint Shop--but did get this message when I tried removing alohabob:

the wording is just a little confusing to me, but is it just confirming that I want it to do what I asked (uninstall)? It kind of sounds like a lame question to ask, but don't want to assume--and then hit the wrong button. ><

You can just hit yes. Actually, you shouldn't just do that, it's a bad habit to get into.
But unlike the messages I usually get that tell me whether I want the keep the file or not, this one doesn't seem to let you uninstall without hitting yes.

^that's why I was a little O_O. lol Maybe I'm over-careful, but I guess it's a good thing that I don't just hit buttons. Thank you to you and awdark for your help. =D
