i kinda have a personal question to ask here, and by personal i don't mean like about my penis or anything, it's like personal as in, i don't think anyone else really has this type of problem but i'd like the best advice possible regardless type personal

ok... first off is the problem: the inner part of my mouth is VERY sore, and it's because of me, i'm chewing it off or w/e

and now the history so i don't seem like a retard who self-mutilates for BDSM reasons: there was like... an inner mouth lining, if you will, on the inside of my mouth, about where my backrow teeth are. it's like if you run your tounge along the inside of your mouth, it's smooth and then you feel like a raised line there about on the backpart of your teeth. so basically with my mensa level iq, i decided to try to smooth it out by chewing off the excess. did. not. go. as. planned. basically what i got now is more than a lining, more like a bruise or a lump on the inside of my mouth... and again with my 98th percentile iq, i decided to try to bite THAT off, in the hopes of probability (if you try enough, it's bound to become right sometime). probability failed me, and now i've got an inner mouth SCAB, or as close to a scab thing as possible on the inside of your mouth, just a bunch of excess skin, but it's like huger than ever. and i am SOOO tempted to bite that off again... but GOD this one hurts something awful even touching it. i'm guessing it's filled with like nerve endings or something.

finally, for the actual question. how do i get rid of this? and don't tell me "just let it heal naturally" because if i do that, i'll still ahve that line thingamajig on the inside of my mouth but larger. actually, is this mini cooper natural? is it caused in reactions to the indentations of my teeth? how do i get rid of it entirely? i'm thinking about taking it a step further, getting a scalpel, or something about as sharp and just cutting it off, forcing it to be smooth. i know this last option will result in a lot of blood, but yeah.... i took a nail clipper to my tounge before so i'm sure a knife to my cheek isn't too far off. please somehow help me with this issue before i do something crazy. again. fine, more crazy. again.

Uhhhh...
Maybe you should stop and go to the dentist.

Cutting the insides of your mouth could lead to a bad infection which would really suck.

Oh my god. Reading this gave me chills. I feel like I just read a script for a horror film. Lol.

Stop biting it.. I would assume that the only way for you to get rid of it is to have some type of surgery. Your mouth heals extremely fast so yes, I suggest you let it heal. It's probably huge because it's swollen. After it has healed you might want to go to a dentist or something.

I'm assuming that what you're basically saying is that you have "excess skin" inside your mouth that you constantly keep trying to gnaw off. I found something for you.

Question:
When I was younger I used to bite the inside of my cheeks. I also wore braces for a long time. Now I have "ridges/flaps" in those areas. The excess skin usually don`t bother me, but sometimes I accidentally bite the inside of my cheeks while eating. Recently my dentist noted that this "excess skin" makes dental work difficult especially in the molar area. He said it`s nothing to be concerned about but it`s causing me problems, now. In the past 2 months I have had work done that required frequent numbing of my right lower jaw. The inside cheek nearest my back molars got injured several times while pinched between my uppper/lower molars before the numbness wore off. Now every night it seems the cheek skin is being caught between my back teeth in this area and won`t heal. I am dreading the next anaesthetic injection and further work on my teeth. Is there a procedure that an oral surgeon could perform that would reduce the amount of excess skin inside my mouth? A "mouth tuck"?!?

Answer:
In answer to your question, yes, this is a procedure that an oral surgeon would perform. "Excess skin", which we call fibrous hyperplasia (essentially this is scar tissue), is a common finding on the inside of the cheeks. Removal of this extra tissue is rather simple and is done quite often. Once the tissue is removed, be certain that the oral surgeon sends the tissue to an oral pathologist so it can be examined under a microscope in order to confirm the diagnosis.

but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

The 'raised line' is actually called 'linea alba'.

According to Wikipedia,
QUOTE
Linea alba (Latin for white line) is also a term used in dentistry to describe a horizontal streak on the mucosal surface of the cheek, level with the occlusal plane. It usually extends from the commissure to the posterior teeth and can be found with similar markings near the inner lip mucosa and corners of the mouth.

It is a common finding and most likely associated with pressure, frictional irritation, or sucking trauma from the facial surfaces of the teeth. It can also be found in indiviuals who chew tobacco, and can be mis-diagnosed as a lesion.

The epithelium of the cheek is non-keratinized but sometimes, along a line coincident with the occlusal plane (i.e. the horizontal plane formed when your upper teeth meet the lower teeth), the epithelium becomes keratinized. The keratinization makes the line appear white and it is considered part of the body's defense system in protecting your cheeks from damages caused by, for example, chewing or grinding.
It is actually very common to have linea alba. It is considered a normal variation of oral anatomy.

I think you should see a dentist since it is causing you pain (since you tried to bite the linea alba off).

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is basically a specialized dentist who has further acquired a degree in Medicine with Residency training.
