I was just wondering which test you guys prefer taking, the SAT's or ACT's and why. I was also wondering if anyone took both and did considerably better on one compared to the other. Sorry if theres already a topic like this! thanks in advance

Preference wise, I like the ACTs. Although they both supposed to be the same difficulty level, I feel like i can do better on the ACTs. I did a little better on the SATs, but with prep, i feel like i can definitely raise my act scores.

SAT's are targeted towards people who live on the coasts, while ACT's are targeted towards the people who live in the inner states.
Well, that's what my English teacher said anyways.
I haven't taken the SAT's, but from what people said on this college forum, it's about 50/50, but it really just depends on the person.
I prefer taking the ACT's because I'm more accustomed to the testing style than with the SAT's.

ACT is a bit easier than SAT. The questions aren't as hard, but i think there are more of them. ACT i think is also longer than the SAT (time wise)

I took both but I didn't do MUCH better on either one.. though I did do a bit better on the ACT.
First off, the ACT seems SO much shorter than SAT (even though it's not I don't think) because there's 4 sections + the optional writing so you work on each section and not like SAT which is CR, math, CR, math, math, CR, or something like that. I think it's easier to study for the ACTs.

The two tests seem to be built two different ways. The SAT is more of critical thinking and seeing if you really can work your way through. The ACT, at least from my perspective (I've taken both, yes), is a bit more straightforward, but damn you gotta GO when you hit the ACT. There's more questions per minute in the ACT. SAT's reading has like, what, 24 questions for 25 minutes? Yeah, much more in the ACT.

I think ACTs are easier than SATs but I didn't do much better than the ACTs than on the SATs.
However, I know some friends that did considerably better when they took the ACTs. I would recommend you do the ACTs if you didn't do so well on the SATs--some people do better on the ACT.

SAT for the win.. not really, but I prefer the SAT 'cause I have more experience with it. ACT looks nasty.
