Hey guys!

I just wanted to start a new discussion on Urban legends.
Share some if you know any, ok? Just for fun laugh.gif
Here's one I know <3

Kuchisake-onna
The legend is said to originate with a young woman who lived hundreds of years ago (some versions of the legend state the Heian period) and was either the wife or concubine of a samurai. She is said to have been very beautiful but also very vain, and possibly cheating on her husband. The samurai, extremely jealous, attacked her and slit her mouth from ear to ear, screaming "Who will think you're beautiful now?"

The urban legend picks up from this point, stating that a woman roams around at night (especially during foggy evenings), with her face covered by a surgical mask, which would not be especially unusual, as people with colds often wear masks for the sake of others in Japan. When she encounters someone (primarily children or college students), she will shyly ask, "Am I beautiful?". If the person answers yes, she will take off her mask and say, "Even like this?" At this point, if the victim answers "No," she will slay them or cut their mouths to resemble hers (her weapon is a pair of scissors). If the victim tells her she is pretty a second time, she follows the victim home and slays them at the doorway to their residence, due to the fact that "kirei", Japanese for 'pretty,' is a near homophone of "kire", the imperative form of "to cut". In other versions of the myth if you reply yes after she removes the mask she will give you a large blood soaked ruby and walk away.

During the seventies, the urban legend went that if the victim answers "You're average", they are saved. When the urban legend was revived around 2000, the answer that would save you was changed to "so-so," with the change that this answer causes the kuchisake-onna to think about what to do, and her victim can escape while she is in thought. One other way is to ask her if you are pretty. She will get confused and leave.

Let me share another one <3

Hanako-san
It happens in a toilet at school [night]: You knock on the first toilet door and say ''Hanako-san, are you done?''. She replies ''No.'' You move on to the next toilet door and repeat what you have just said. She replies ''Nearly.'' Move on to the next toilet door, repeat your question and she says ''I'm done.'' The door slowly opens and you see a little girl with black long hair sitting on the toilet. You have to run away quickly or else...

If you want to try it, do it with a lot of friends to keep you company. ^o^

lol the first one wasn't scary but very interesting, but the hanako-san one is scary as heck. o.O I'm straying a bit from japanese stuff, but in chinese superstitions its said that girls attract ghosts and spritual beings more easily than boys as they are the 'moon' and boys are the 'sun'. So the thought of going back to school at night (I go to an all girls school too) even with friends is scary.

here is another urban legend

in certain japanese households where the toilets are very white and clean it is said spirits roam. you can tell they are there when they leave marks on steam covered mirrors. but it is said if you notice that the level of water in your toilet bowl has mysteriously dropped much lower than it usually is, then if you put a drop of dog's eye tears in your eyes and watch, you will see toilet ghosts with long black hair slurping out of your toilet bowl.

Oh god. I think starting this new topic is going to scare myself.
Thanks for a interesting and scary story, I'm way younger than you think I am.
But if you want, keep scaring the heck out of me, I have a strong imagination of horror and ghosts.

here is another japanese urban legend

if you are sleeping alone, you should never sleep in a double bed. or if you do, try to never just sleep on one side. otherwise, the legend goes, in the dark of the night while you are sleeping on one side, something or someone will lie down on the floor next to the bed and start sleeping. you will hear deep breathing as you sleep and the ghost sleeps. if you do not get rid of this ghost, later it will get up appear lying down next to you on the bed. the deep breathing will sound right next to you. if you do not get rid of the ghost this time, next time the ghost will enter and sit down hard on the bed while you sleep and you will feel the bed shake. then the mattress will start bouncing because the ghost will start jumping up and down on the mattress.

sweet dreams.
