The rest I will skip out on as it seems my skin freaks out and peels if I don't make sure to moisturize enough (so no peel for me, thanks).
Also, I love makeup so I don't think I'll get away with just rinsing my face. My skin is pretty smooth to begin, but I do have bothersome pores on and around my nose.
Otherwise thanks!
Though I have issues with one thing you said...about not using towels because of germs. I thought most germs are killed off as long as you make sure your towels are drying properly. It's the same reason you leave your toothbrushes with the brush side up. Dead skin might stay on your towel, but I don't think you need to worry about germs. Just wash your towel regularly, using paper towels every day (twice a day?) seems really wasteful.
Haha, sorry to be all

Thank you for all your nice comments everyone! I was really debating whether to post up pictures of my skin or not, because well..they're not very flattering lol. But I do believe that a picture is worth a thousand words so of course before and after pics are a must! For those of you who purchased the peels (not just glycolic, any peels you've tried) please post here with your experience.
I personally have only tried the glycolic peel, but if you've used any other ones, please please post here to share your thoughts and I will edit my previous post to include your reviews. I think this thread could become a very helpful place for soompiers looking to try facial peels.
- Amy
do you use the salt as a mask or do you use it as a daily thing
- I did it everyday, I didn't do a mask. I just wipe my face with the salt water and cotton pad and then rinse it off with water and that was it.
- Since I put it on a cotton pad, I use it to wipe everything away. It worked very well for me. After wiping my face with the cotton pad soaked in salt water (if it's not enough, I do 2 pads or something) I rinse my face off with water :]
- No, I don't think you can. I've never seen it in store, and since I think only MUAC has it available in that high of a concentration through their online site.
- I think the lowest one on their site is 30% :[ you can try lactic acid peels though? since it's derived from milk, it's milder than glycolic peels. Here's the explanation from MUAC's site:
"Lactic Acids (Alpha Hydroxy)
Derived from milk, milder than glycolic acid, and typically better for working on hyperpigmentation problems. Our formulation contains licorice extract, an effective skin lightening additive. Appropriate for normal, dry, or oily skin. An alpha hydroxy, this peel penetrates the epidermis-only. A good all around peel for the beginner."
- Any food store, I got mine at Trader Joe's. They should have them at Vons, Ralphs, Albertson, etc.
- It stings a little, I get this really itchy feeling when I put it on. It stings at first, but then after a couple of minutes it starts to itch..but you shouldn't itch it ><; that's all, no PAIN. but then beauty is pain :[ LOL
- Yup, that's why I bought the product. My acne, once gone left me with a lot of "crater" scars. Using the product definitely helped diminish it, not all of them went away though >:[ but with time I hope they will all be gone

thanks so so so much I really think I will try this
oh & by the way, my mom grew up in Florida and she agrees that swimming in the ocean is what kept her skin clear, and she had BEAUTIFUL skin
I have a couple questions though --
can I make a mixture of the sea salt & water and leave it in a container and use that so I don't have to mix it together every morning and night?
what proportion of sea salt & water did you use?
Also, for people who want something with 10% glycolic acid, try this

And then... the egyptian magic all purpose cream.... my love!! i have only used it for one week, and my face is looking SOOO MUCH better!
Peechier you are def right about trying to prevent it. Your skin is seroiusly really beautiful!! I still need to try that peel, but i am debating as to how much % i should get
Baking powder? Really? Does it really work?
If it does, how much would you say? A tablespoon of baking powder?
I don't wanna try out scary stuff yet so ima start with harmless simples ones
Also, do you think CVS, Walmart would have Egyptian magic?

- I actually switched, I don't use paper towels anymore, I just buy facial tissues and use those. Paper towels are too expensive I figured lol. But that's true...my skin is pretty buff
- You should make a topic like that! I think everyone should share their tips and favorite products, no one likes to try anything w/o knowing if it actually works, so it's nice to have product reviews. 6% salycic acid is a lot lol...and you're right you should definitely contact your derm first. Salycic acid is different from glycolic acid though, so I don't think you should use the fact that your skin can handle a high amount of salycic acid as a base for getting the glycolic peel. For beginners I think it's best that you start out with lactic acid, which is more gentle. You can always leave the lactic acid on longer if it doesn't irritate your skin, and if all goes well you can purchase the sample for glycolic and try it out. It never hurts to be extra cautious :]

- That's what I do, lol I make a mixture and just keep it in a cup and then soak the cotton pad in it when I wash my face :] I don't really have exact measurements, but I do taste it (not drink it..) to make sure it's super salty lol!

- I'm not a dermatologist, so I don't want to tell you what you should and should not do with your skin. You know your skin best, so it really depends if your skin is sensitive or not and if you're willing to take a risk with the peel. If you're a beginner then definitely start out with lactic acid, since it's more gentle than glycolic. Never test directly on your first right away, test it out on a small area first to make sure you're not allergic. Definitely consult a derm though to see if you even need to go so far as an acid peel

- Oooh I want to try the baking powder too...I bought my Egyptian Magic at Whole Foods. I went on their site to check where their products are sold, you can do that too, it'll tell you where it's sold in your specific state

thanks for the useful tips! can you further explain about the baking soda? do you mix it with water to use in the form of a mask? and how many times should you do it?
i also read your post about boiling water and sea salt together. how much salt do you boil with water?
and the egyptian magic cream & the glycolic peel.. is that okay for active pimples/acnes on face? cause i have a few pimples plus acne scars that i would love to get rid of if these two products aren't just for scars.. and these are ok for oily skin, right?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR USEFUL TIPS! i went on a spree and bought a huge supply of sea salt and plan on ordering the peels and hunting down the cream tonight.

My skin is in the SAME condition as your before, and I don't necessarily have pimples, but more scars, and hyper-pigmentation =___=;;
Uhh Question: My mouth area is a bit darker than the rest of my skin.. if i use the peel will it even out my skin tone on its own or should i apply only around my mouth (which wouldn't make too much sense since my cheeks have scars..)?

I tried the baking powder last night. Since i didn't know how much to put in. I put in about 2 tsp of BAKING POWDER and a bit of water. Actually probably 5 tbsp of water. It turned out to be pretty runny, like water.
But anyway, i dabbed it on my whole face and slept on it the whole night. After the first 5-7 minutes, i had a pimple on my left cheek, it kinda got hard (like when its time to peel off) but i didn't. When i woke up, i can't say that all scars or pimples cleared but more like they...looked less puffier and pink?
-___-; idk, ima try it again tonight. With less water maybe.
Anyhoo, Whole foods? I live round Indiana and Kentucky.
