obviously doing cardio is the most effective way of trimming fat
but im wondering
what would you say is a recommended length of time to be jogging on a treadmill? in one session/set, that is. and how fast would you define as effective jogging? not too fast and not too slow, and makes you sweat enough? the machines show the rate at miles per hour, right? so yea..what mph do you usually jog at?
and are there any differences between being on a bike and being on a treadmill? i feel like running may be more effective if you're doing the two of them for the same length of period, but let's say if i was willing to stay on the bike for longer..would the results be essentially the same between running/biking?

It's been shown that cardio is not the most effective way to lose body fat. The best way is a combination of cardio and weight training. And in even better, circuit training which is a way to combine the cardio and weight training effectively.
Studies have shown that cardio effectively burns fat only during the session itself and up to an hour or two afterwards, though in contrast, building muscles through exercise can effectively burn fat during the training session and up to a day after since your body needs to repair all those muscles you just worked on.
So you need to ask yourself what is your goal? to lose body fat, to lose body fat and gain muscle? to see your abs?
If your goal is to increase your cardio performance, then by all means work on your volume and intensity for your cardio sessions. vary it from length of time one day to how hard and fats the next.
have any questions, PM me.
