Hi guys,
Here's my story. I've known this guy for about 4 years now. We've been really good friends. Recently, after our graduation, I've been getting weird, mixed signals that he might be interested in me as more than just a friend. I couldn't find a right opportunity (or wasn't brave enough to find one) to ask him about his feelings. So, I wrote him an email and this is how he responded. Please help decipher what he really meant? So is he interested or not? I'm a bit dense when it comes to this, sorry! Guys and girls' comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
My email:
I want to talk to you about something but I think it might be a bit awkward to do so in person so I'm doing it through this e-mail. I don't want you to be weird about it or be weirded out by it. I just want an honest answer. I know we've been friends for quite some time now, but are you in any way interested in me as more than just a friend? I've been getting mixed signals at times lately, so I want to get down to the bottom of it. I might be wrong but I just want to know your true feelings. Thanks!
His response:
"my name" you won't kill me for it? : ) Remember we've had this discussion before during rotations? You can ask me anything and I won't be weirded out!
Honest answer would be no. I realize what I've said yesterday about A and B (two guys in our class, A recently got married to another classmate, B recently got engaged)...it's my fault. I get attached to close friends and do/say stupid things around them.
If it's OK with you, I can say more. I don't want to hurt you by saying more.
Remember, always your friend,
"His name"

If he says he's not interested, then ... well -- he really, probably is not.
I'm just assuming here, but it sounds like he thinks you might be interested in him (going by what you wrote in your e-mail) & therefore doesn't want to say much more in case it hurts your feelings.

"Honest answer would be no."
"If it's OK with you, I can say more. I don't want to hurt you by saying more."
Those would answer your question.
