i have a Blackberry Curve 8830 phone and i think it's broken :/
i went to the beach yesterday and as i was turning it in my hand to put into my pocket,
it slipped and fell on the boardwalk. it was a pretty bad fall; battery fell out as well.
i put it back together and turned it on but i didn't notice anything until i got into the car.
there was no signal and i thought it was just because i was in a no network area or my battery was dying.
as i got closer and closer to my house, it still had no signal.

i've tried taking everything out and putting it back in numerous times with no success.
i've tried fully charging the battery with no success.
i've tried to reestablish the network by rescanning it with no success.

anyone have any ideas besides taking it to the store to fix it?

I would suggest you take it to the store to have it fixed. You've tried alot of things. Or that's what I would do.

given that you dropped it and it still boots up fine, I presume that the fall knocked the antenae chip loose or some sort and unless you're a certified electrical engineer i doubt you can fix it, the best way would be to return to the store to get it fixed or replaced

a. its not a software problem as that your phone still boots up normally and works except for the signal
b. given that mostly everything works except the signal we can deduce that only the parts dealing with cellular data were damaged
c. because the phone still works the main circuits/chips are fine, therefore we can deduce that it has to do with the antenae or the sim slot
